We arrived a lot later than expected on our first day thanks to a flat tire in middle of nowhere Montana, so being welcomed by an immaculate home with everything we needed clearly visible to us was a dream. We were able to check in and get all of our things inside without issue and spent time relaxing by admiring the handmade furniture and the cottage itself! The welcome book detailed how the owner had built it by hand and we went from room to room simply marveling in the skill it must have taken to do so. That, and the massive book collection that lined almost every wall. I wish I'd had more time so I could have just sat and read for days!
We had booked the location in Driggs because of the proximity to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone and were not disappointed at all. Getting to Grand Teton and back was easy, and Driggs itself is a lovely town that my friend and I both talked about wanting to come back to on our next visit as it was the perfect place to stay. Joey's home is close enough to main street to walk to many of the restaurants (The Royal Wolf was our fave) and shops, and he provided great recommendations for places to eat, as well as numbers for all local emergency services. My friend is a nurse and was happy to know that the local hospital was just down the street from us. The neighborhood was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing we had slight issue with was that it was so hot, but we can't blame climate change on a VRBO house, and once we reached out and asked, Joey directed us to where we could find fans that helped us cool down significantly.
The whole house is eco friendly and the drive there was picturesque when we did it during the daytime. We had to cut our visit short thanks to a change in our flight home, but if it's available next time we make our way back out west, we would definitely book here again!
