Location is convenient for getting around to the airport and more touristy areas, though it does not seem to be in a very international or luxurious part of the city. I took ubers from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the Pearl and Education City, each costing no more than $5 and taking around 20 minutes.
Room was well-sized, modest in amenities, but sufficient for the traveler who needs the room mostly to freshen up, unwind, and sleep.
Room came with two bottles of water and some tea/coffee packs.
Fridge was included, but no microwave (as is common in U.S. hotels nowadays).
There is a very small *But still nice to have * gym space and rooftop pool. There is also a gourmet coffee stand in the lobby.
The staff messed up my wake-up call time a few times, which is a bummer. Also, pack a wall plug converter- the hotel (and presumably qatar) has three-pronged outlets only. The staff was very polite but not very professional, had to ask for towels/amenities to room a few times, in addition to the wake-up call messup mentioned above. The rooms were quite affordable though, and comfortable for that price range.
