This was a lovely property; very clean and spacious.; very peaceful setting. Furnishings are pretty basic -- mattresses on elevated frames, etc. Although it is walking distance to Trout Lake, you don't really have access to Trout Lake (at least not in September; in the summer there might be a dock you can swim out to, but we were more interested in access for fishing.) While the listing mentions a gas fireplace, you are to use it for "ambiance and not for heat," as the heat from the fireplace could damage the tv above. We translated this to don't leave the fireplace on for long. The only chairs I saw on the front porch were fold up camping chairs, although there is nice furniture on the back deck. The reason for the 4 star rating (as opposed to 5) is that the tenant has no control over the thermostat -- the owner controls it remotely. (The thermostat requires an access code to unlock, and they weren't giving us the code.) As an adult, I found this odd --not to mention paternalistic/controlling. It also made me feel like I was being "nickeled and dimed." (Trust me, we were charged enough to cover the cost of utilities.) The annoying nature of the situation was exacerbated by the lack of blankets on the beds and in the closets (just sheets and bedspreads). (There were about 3 throws in a basket in the living room -- and they may supply blankets in the winter, I don't know.) So I wouldn't stay here again, because I just don't need that level of nonsense. (If I wanted someone else controlling my thermostat for a week, I would have stayed with relatives.) But if you're OK with this kind of weird paternalism, I recommend the property.
