"Week end hivernal très reposant le long du canal et au milieu des champs inondés par la Meuse. Endroit très calme. Promenade en forêt et sur le chemin de halage avec une petite visite sur Verdun. La télé et le Wifi ne sont pas au meilleur de leurs formes mais nous n'étions pas là pour ça. Propriétaire très sympathique. Nous sommes repartis très reposés. Lieu à recommander pour se ressourcer. "Just returned from a wonderful stay at Chez Mathilde near Verdun. Annie, our host, was absolutely lovely — so welcoming and friendly, and she even treated us to delicious homemade goodies. The house itself was amazing, full of character with beautiful traditional features and immaculate furnishings throughout. It really felt like a home away from home. The area is fantastic too, with so much history to explore, especially the WWI sites nearby. We’d highly recommend Chez Mathilde to anyone...

"Wir haben uns in diesem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Mit einem schönen Ofen (und vorhandenem Holz) ist es noch gemütlicher. Der Garten ist komplett umzäunt und für Hunde ideal. Es war alles sehr sauber, geräumig und fehlte an keiner Ausstattung. Mit dem Hund konnte man eine schöne Runde über Felder und durch das kleine Dorf mit Kirche drehen. Für den EK und zur Besichtigung anderer Städte ist ein Auto notwendig."

"Que dire ? Que de bonnes surprises, superbe maison au calme avec un très grand jardin, un séjour à l'image de la maison. Quasiment toutes les chambres ont leurs salle de bain ou salle d'eau. On a y passer un super week-end. "

"The hostess was enthusiastic-- a florist with a lovely garden. We had very lovely conversations within my fractured French. Excellent restaurant recommendation from her that was a short and easy walk. The local park we went through is very pleasant and a nice play to sit. There were other guests yet we had no idea until we came to breakfast. We also saw them at the same restaurant. "

"Stopped here en route to Italy by car, very much off the beaten track. Lovely countryside location, very peaceful. Pleasant welcome. good room with all facilities, bed was adjustable and very comfortable. Decor a little dated, but this is part of the charm of choosing a rural hotel. Excellent meal, reasonably priced; lady who served us was especially nice. Good breakfast. Would definitely come back."
