Blue Horizon - Destin Gulfgate 0804!

This 1430sq foot, 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo features a 30 foot private beach-front balcony, high speed wireless internet and free beach service March 1st through the Sunday after Thanksgiving. (Monthly reservations do not receive complimentary beach set-ups.) This spacious condo was recently renovated and offers a king size bed in the master bedroom with custom walk-in shower in the attached bathroom. The guest bedroom is equipped with 2 queen beds and the attached bathroom will feature a tub/shower combo. It offers an under counter ice maker, full size washer and dryer, and one dedicated, covered parking space in the garage.

Amazing stay

The perfect 2 bedroom condo. Older, so the balcony is huge, but decorated beautifully. Steps from The Back Porch, an arcade, the track, etc….Mix in the unmatched water of the emerald coast and you have a near perfect spot!

Disappointed- had been smoked in

The condo was beautiful! Living room furniture and beds were very comfortable. View was amazing and location was great . Unfortunately, when we opened the door to the condo we were hit in the face with cigarette smoke. We checked in after the office was closed but I texted them immediately to let them know. I did not expect a response since they were closed but did go to the office the next morning. I was told the previous guest had left a candle burning and that was what the smell was from. I let her know I am allegic to cigarette smoke and thought the previous guest was using the candle to mask the odor. I was horribly congested, throat hurting and a headache. I was also not thrilled that my family was breathing in second hand smoke. I told her I knew this was a VRBO so I wasn't sure if it was possible to change condos. She said she would look but offered to send maintenance up to change the air filters. I even asked about an air purifier but told them I knew nothing about clearing smoke from a building. She said she didn't think it was smoke and just from the candle. All that was done to remedy the situation was air filters changed and air freshener sprayed in the condo. No one ever got back to me about moving spaces or to see if it was any better. I had to wash all the towels in the condo that weren't under a cabinet because they all smelled of cigarette smoke. Any clothes that we hung in the closet also smelled like smoke. We will never rent this unit again. I understand that you can't control what your guest do (smoking in the unit) but it will take some serious work to get that smell out of that unit. I think Gulfgate should have made some accommodation to make this right. Their rental agreement says the whole building is non smoking. We paid for a non smoking condo. And we paid what we feel is good money to get what was advertised and what our signed rental agreement said.

Excellent!

It was a perfect mini vacation with our college daughter, her friend and teenage son. Very comfortable, location was great. Water was beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend.
