Welcome to Golden’s newest hotel, primely located in a long-standing historic building in the heart of downtown. Overlooking Washington Ave and the iconic “Welcome to Golden” arch, you will stay in the middle of it all - steps away from eateries, breweries, shops, museums, and parks. With 10BR/8BA across 4 units, this property is perfect for a large party looking to be close to the School of Mines, Red Rocks, and some of Colorado’s best hiking, climbing, skiing, water sports, and so much more!

The Space:
The Avenue Hotel is primely located on the second floor of a historic building in the heart of downtown Golden. Since it was built in the 1870s, the building has housed a grocery store, a hotel, the Golden Globe Newspaper, a carpet store, a furniture store, and a chapel. Many prominent businessmen, politicians, and judges have stayed and worked in this building throughout its years, putting it on the map as an important hub in Golden for the last 150 years!

The hotel was recently renovated, the four suites each include a large, modern kitchen, between 2-4 spacious bedrooms, 2 pristine bathrooms, and a comfortable living room. You’ll appreciate the ample natural light, tastefully placed décor, functional amenities like washers and dryers, and spacious rooms where you can spread out and relax.

Each suite has walk-in glass showers with sleek-looking tile and finishings, fully-stocked kitchens with brand-new appliances, and plenty of counter space with a kitchen island. You will feel right at home whether you are connecting over a delicious meal made in the modern kitchen, catching up and sharing memories in the living room, or unwinding from a day full of adventure in the comfortable spaces in each apartment.

Guest Access:
Our guests will have full access to all four suites. Each suite is on the second floor of the building and requires you to use the common area stairs to reach your suite. In addition, we offer contactless check-in/check-out for maximum independence and privacy.

The Neighborhood:
Downtown Golden is the perfect home base for exploring the town and the Front Range. The area is full of heritage architecture and vibrant businesses. The location is incredibly walkable, with many top restaurants, bars, breweries, and shops within a 5-10 minute walk. Whether it’s an afternoon of shopping at the local boutiques, an evening out for a fine dinner, a day exploring historical sites, or playing in the area’s outdoor paradise, Golden has something for everyone!

Golden has a ton of charm. One of its most alluring features is its proximity to attractions such as Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, the Colorado School of Mines, adventures like Lookout Mountain, Lariat Loop, great hiking and climbing, and exploration in the Rockies. You’ll find coffee shops, restaurants, unique boutiques, and history lessons right outside your door!

Looking to recharge in the mountains? Hop onto I-70 to experience breathtaking hikes and views within an hour. One of Colorado's main draws is Rocky Mountain National Park, which makes for a great day trip. Drive a little over an hour through a dramatic canyon for a day of hiking, sightseeing, and wildlife viewing. Depending on your destination, skiing is 1-3 hours away. Locals head to Echo Mountain, Eldora (near Boulder), or Loveland (near Georgetown) for a more low-key experience. We're also within a couple of hours of Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain.

This location is the perfect jumping-off point for exploring the best of Golden and surrounding towns, the Rockies, and even Denver if you’re craving the hustle and bustle of the big city!

Getting Around:
The Rocky Mountains are to the West, and Denver is South of where you will be staying. I-70 West will take you into the mountains and straight to the ski areas, while you can hop on I-25 to access Fort Collins to the North and Colorado Springs to the South. The 36 takes you to Boulder and eventually the Rocky Mountain National Park gateway towns of Lyons and Estes Park.

Downtown Golden is a highly walkable city. In addition to nearby Clear Creek Trails, Washington Avenue and the historic 12th Street neighborhood are great locations to stroll. A car is recommended if you will be exploring in the mountains. For those without a car, we recommend utilizing Uber or Lyft to reach further destinations in and around Golden. Get exploring!
