You'll think you've died and gone to heaven! This river house is located on a wide stretch of the Chattahoochee River near Helen, and is anything but ordinary. Relax on the back deck to the sounds of the rushing creek waterfall rapids just 50 feet below the house. The house sleeps 8 people in beds. Bring your own inner tubes so you can enjoy some river fun and tube down the river back to the house! This unique section of river & creek with waterfall is your own private water amusement park: enjoy swimming in the river, sunning and relaxing on the sandbar, rock shoals, and island in the middle of the river, tubing / kayaking / rafting directly behind the house, playing on the natural rock waterslides in the creek, and exploring the rock shoals of the river. The fishing is good in the river for shoal bass, striped bass, catfish, and bream. The kids will love climbing trees and playing on the property, and won't even want to watch Netflix or play video games. Your stress will melt away as you catnap in the hammock by the waterfall. Take a nearby hike up to the top of Yonah Mountain then come back and soak your muscles in the hot tub and listening to the waterfall cascades. The back porch deck overlooks the waterfall, so morning coffee on the deck is lovely. Flat Screen HD TV's have Smart TV Roku built-in so you can log into your Netflix account and enjoy movies and wine by the living room stacked stone fireplace. The grill master can chose between a Weber charcoal grill on the deck or the other charcoal grill down by the creek waterfall, or use the gas grill on the upper deck. The picnic table next to the river makes the perfect place for a Sunday afternoon family lunch. Your kids will never forget the family nights spent around the fire pit with Adirondack chairs telling ghost stories, catching fireflies, and roasting marshmallows. Sit on a boulder by the river, drink a cherry Coke, and you'll feel like you're back in Mayberry, USA. Nature lovers should keep an eye out for the wild deer and Canadian geese in the backyard during sunset happy hour with wine. This property is very private and secluded on 5 acres of wooded property, so you'll have no problem decompressing from the stress of city life. Enjoy nature walks through the woods on the property, or walk down the gravel country road. The interior of the house is decorated with french country furniture and antique motif. Whatever your age or interests, there is something for everyone at this extraordinary river & creek retreat. This is the ultimate river & creek vacation experience!!! My family and I came up here to get away for a few days and look at some vineyards in the area. It was so peaceful and my dogs really enjoyed the cabin and the creek. Lots of nature around to see, and the hot tub was very relaxing after a day of exploring.
The property was beautiful with a great view and great accommodations. Property was clean and as advertised. Enjoyed the hot tub, roominess, and creek view. Owner was accommodating to requests. Would definitely stay again!
We enjoyed our 2 week stay, the creek and river were so relaxing. We spent a lot of days up in Waynesville, NC and ended up buying our own summer home there!
We stayed in this house two nights and it had everything and more. The home was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the short trail to the water behind the home. The home was close to Helen and we enjoyed our stay.
The property was very nice and as described. The host was attentive and helpful. Our family of 4 adults and 2 teens were very comfortable. The grounds around the property were the highlight. The kids enjoyed the creek and river. We visited during the colder part of the year, but imagine this property during the summer would be even better. Helen, GA was also a short and easy drive away.
This cabin was prefect for a quiet getaway with my husband. The property is absolutely stunning with both creek and river views. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We will be back!
Exactly what we were looking for. Very quiet and calming atmosphere. There's a creek right on the property where you can just wind down with a good read. Large grocery store nearby if you dont plan to eat out alot.
The property was immaculate, everything was as it was described on the listing. Great for my large family of 7. We didn’t bring our pupper this time but I plan on bringing her next time, so much space to explore. We will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house, decks, and hot tub were a great place to spend a relaxing week. We also ventured out to waterfalls, the Blue Ridge Railway, and the town of Helen. The house required going up stairs and it’s not an easy trek down to the river if you have any physical disabilities, just so you are aware. It was a wonderful vacation!
We had a girls weekend for my daughter's 19th birthday. This property is beautiful. The house is spacious. The river view is gorgeous. Everything was as stated in the listing but even better. I am already trying to get my husband to come back in the summer.
The cabin is great. It has all of the amenities available, there are multiple beds and restrooms. The jacuzzi outside works perfectly fine and so does the gas grill. If you want, you can go tubing or kayaking on the river that is less than a football's field length away as well. The local area is rural, although it is still within reach of restaurants and grocery stores [10 miles away at most]. There are a few homes in the area but they are very spaced out from each other.Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the area as well.
The property was so serene and much needed after driving back from Texas to SC. We loved it so much we’re returning this summer to really adventure. Helen was so adorable and a short drive. The closest shopping town was very Up kept where we went to eat. The international kitchen was fabulous!!! Nice wide safe roads. The house was very clean and offered great supplies as well.
After Hurricane Helene, our Vrbo was destroyed along with the town of Chimney Rock, NC. We scrambled to find something with the amenities we were used to (mountains, hot tub, views, river, fireplace). This place filled the bill. Beautiful property with direct access to the Chattahoochee and hiking. Close to Helen, GA for shopping, dining and waterfalls.
The only negative that we found was that the beds were super firm. May want to bring your own pillow topper.
Great location! We had a great stay and enjoyed the area. The hot tub was awesome- as the weather was cold when we were there. The walk down to the river is a little tough in the fall with all the leaves down- it is a steep walk and can be slippery. The pictures of the house are exactly what it is. We loved the kitchen and all the counter space. Only downside of the house is the seating in living room- we had 5 adults and there is not enough seats for all.The beds were very comfortable and the owners thought of everything. There were only 2 wine glasses when we arrived, but we went to some wineries in the area, and left a few glasses from our tastings, so hopefully there are enough for adults staying. We would definitely rent this property again if we return.
This was a very clean, lovely cabin way out in the woods. We were there for a wedding in Cleveland and it was a great place to stay. It was a bit more off the beaten path than we realized but once we found it, we enjoyed it thoroughly. Make sure you follow the instructions from the owner once you get off the main highway as the GPS doesn't give directions all the way to the cabin. We were there in Oct and the trees and fall colors were beautiful! This would be amazing in the summer months as well. Tubing on the river, a cookout, and just enjoying the deck and getting away from it all would make for a wonderful summer family getaway!
Loved our stay. The cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at. Thick towels, lots of extras (soaps, detergents, etc..) Enjoyable and relaxing stay. All our needs were met. My only complaint is the stairs into the house are scary. The are steep and very slippery when wet. Throw in the leaves and it was worse. We are all able body and active adults too. Anyone with any disability could not make it up the stairs safely.
This property was absolutely perfect for us! The creek was secluded and perfect for our dog to enjoy. The river was gorgeous and fun to play in. The house had everything we needed and we ate almost every meal there. The bed was very comfortable. I absolutely loved the big glass windows looking out to the porch. We spent alot of time on the porch listening to the rushing creek and birds singing. We even had a small fire above the waterfalls by the adirondack chairs. This place is a little piece of Heaven. I was sad to leave. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend staying here. The hosts were above and beyond and very responsive.
This area is beautiful, and we loved the view and creek. The house though, needs updating. I think they are soing so presently as there was a lot of construction material lying around outside.
Also, cleaning crew needs to pay more attention...we found three random dirty sock while we were there (under the beds and outside) and the glasses and pots were dirty in the cabinets.
6 adults 1 9 yoa. Two adults slept on bunk beds child with us, other adults in the other room. Overall clean, comfortable but not perfect..not that picky. Short walk to the one fire pit which is by a small stream, about 150 yards in the opposite direction is the Chattahoochee river which was nice for swimming and chilling, be careful of crossing over the rocks. In both treks, it's walking down and the opposite coming back. Yes, I would come back again.
My sister and I spent a few days in this lovely spot with our elderly mother. The scenery is beautiful and I can't say enough about the fun my sis and I had hiking the creek and falls. The rock walls are incredible and it is so peaceful. Listening to the water sitting on the deck in the evening was very relaxing after a fun trip to Helen during the day. We visited Dahlonega for gold panning and several wineries and meaderies, all within a reasonable drive so the location is actually quite convenient. The house is well equipped, clean and the rules and check out requirements very reasonable. I would re-book this property again, perhaps in the summer so we can enjoy the river and tubing. Thank you for a great trip!
