「The cabin was perfect and just what we needed. The lakefront property was idyllic and indeed the slice of wilderness heaven promised in the listing. The host, Barb, was helpful, kind, compassionate, and quite amenable and understanding. She even came out in a storm when we locked ourselves out by accident. The location and proximity to other jewels of Maine as well as the freshest of seafood and Maine home cooking made day trips a very feasible possibility! You can’t miss with this property...

「The house is situated in a quiet, peaceful location with an incredible view. We watched lobster boats come and go and seals fishing in the bay. A fantastic place to spend a few days! The house is small and no-frills, but clean, comfortable and well-maintained. We appreciated how it was far enough from Bar Harbor to avoid the August crowds, but close enough to go there for the day. Check in/out was straightforward, and communication was excellent.」

「The location is gorgeous with plenty of nearby walks, hikes, and interesting places to keep us busy. We saw deer, eagles and turkeys on the property. The cottage was clean and comfortable. It was quiet—at times we could hear the ocean from Pigeon Hill Bay just down the embankment across the road. Perfect in every way!」

All house and outdoor amenities were sufficient for our group of 6, however television did not work (maybe not a bad thing if it's good weather to keep you enjoying the outdoors. 「This quaint stay was everything we needed for our trip to MDI. Becka was a wonderful host (as was her angelic dog, Cayenne), and we loved the rustic setting. The rental was well and thoughtfully stocked. The outdoor shower was so enjoyable, serenaded by the nearby apiary. Even the early bird rooster made us laugh. Would happily stay again.」
