Perched steps away from the ocean, our beach cottage beckons with newly remodeled bathrooms and a cozy screened-in porch boasting spectacular ocean views. With the soothing sound of waves as your soundtrack, relax in coastal comfort and gather around the new fire pit for memorable evenings under the stars. Escape to our haven offering an unforgettable retreat by the sea.

- Please note that it is necessary to take a ferry to Daufuskie Island and the cost of boat and ground transportation is around $90 per person roundtrip, with discounts available for children 5 and under. (Parking fees may apply.) Let us help you with these details. We will provide options and recommendations with your booking.

This premium cottage has it all. Situated on the ocean-front row of Daufuskie’s beautiful Avenue of Oaks, Beach Break guests will look to the Atlantic Ocean beach from the screened-in front porch. The cottage has a wonderful location, and cottage guests will be just steps away from the pristine Melrose Beach .

The interior of the cottage is open and spacious living/dining/kitchen area that is great for family and friend time. The cottage includes flat screen TVs and DVD players in the living room and both bedrooms. WIFI is Free during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with service for 8 or more with full size appliances, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and a stocked Coffee/Tea Bar, making meal preparation easy for you and your family throughout your stay - even Holidays!

Washer and dryer in cottage to make island life more convenient and comfortable; and there is a high chair and pack & play for your infant and toddler needs.

A golf cart will be included with your booking and additional golf carts are available at discounted rate from our cart provider. Information for reserving additional carts will be provided at booking.
GAS CARTS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT ALL JONBIE COTTAGES & VILLAS and Carts are NOT to be used for hauling luggage, coolers, groceries, etc.

Information on transportation to and from the island along with getting groceries and activities will be provided with your reservation. Beach Break is an owner vacation home, professionally managed by JonBie Maisons and we’re happy to share our island dream with you.

Excellent House with Excellent View!
We absolutely loved our stay, even though we were here during Hurricane Debby! The house is beachfront and the beach was so nice and quiet. A true retreat away from the crowds. The house is well-stocked with everything we needed (even lanterns for when we lost electricity during the hurricane). We enjoyed the restaurants on the island, Sportsman's Pub, Melrose Oyster House and The Old Daufuskie Crab Company. The Freeport General Store has essentials and souvenirs, and is worth a visit. We met many locals and really loved the feel of the island. We will be back!

Great Stay as always
The logistics of getting to a bridge-less island makes getting here a bit more challenging than some other more traditional vacation spots but it is well worth the extra effort. Property manager is super helpful. She answered all our questions, eased our transportation concerns, and helped us make our time very high quality. Love the cottage vibe and can't wait to come back.

The views and access to the beach are spectacular! The home came with a very nice golf cart that became our main means of transportation while on the island. The interior of the home has nicely appointed finishes and the management company was great to deal with. We would definitely rent from JonBie in Melrose again!

Nice place to stay. Beach is about 100 yards from the back door. That’s about as close as you can get in that area. The golf cart travel is awesome. Kids loved swimming in the ocean. We would do it again.

Beach Cottage
We absolutely loved our stay at the beach cottage at Melrose. The cottage is clean and very well furnished, and offers great views of the ocean and Hilton Head Island. The whole D'fuskie Island experience is extremely relaxing. The people are warming and inviting. Everything is a short golf cart drive away.

Fabulous week
This was our first time to Daufuskie Island, and I am so glad we made this trip! It was the most relaxing beach experience we have ever had… And the cottage could not have been more convenient. We will come again! Our only negative is that there are no vegetarian options on the dining out menus… Thankfully, we had packed our meals.

Daukuskie is worth the ferry!
This house was beautifully decorated,equipped and located! From the large screened in porch we were able to see the ocean and watch the thunderstorms in all their glory, to top that the perfect double rainbow! The house came with a golf cart which was a necessity to explore the island. There isn’t a lot of nightlife but the island is better than any other beach location we’ve been. It’s got a charm and private feeling you won’t match. We are already discussing the dates for next year!

Peace at last!
We were first timers to Dafuskie but it surely won’t be our last. The house was EXACTLY as pictured and described. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave us the lay of the land. Plenty of sand toys, beach chairs and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook with. There’s so much to explore on the whole island. The beach was so peaceful and sometimes you’re the only one on it! We only stayed for 4 days but wish we would’ve booked for longer!!

Absolutely Awesome
Great place to stay. Exactly as advertised. Host went above and beyond what anyone could want. Some of our luggage didn’t make it on the ferry, he contacted the ferry company and got it delivered on the next boat. Also, brought us an extra golf cart for our adult kids to drive. Gave us great info about the island. We will definitely be back to the island and will definitely stay here again.

Outstanding location!
This was our first visit to Daufuskie Island and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The island is a perfect spot if you are looking for a place to relax while enjoying the beach and related activities. Kurt and Tammy, our hosts, have a lovely property beautifully situated steps away from the water. Kurt met us on arrival to ensure we were aware of all the island has to offer and to make certain we were comfortable with everything the home offered. The fact that the property was equipped with a golf cart and bikes was an added bonus and convenience. And the beds………..we slept like rocks. Super comfortable! We had a great time, a wonderful stay and are already planning a return trip in four months.

The best get away
The best rental I have ever stayed at by far. I loved the property but most of loved the owners not only did they meet us in person to explain things but they made our experience and made our trip. We loved the island and will come back for years to come!

Relaxing getaway
This was our first time visiting Daufuskie Island and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and well stocked with all the essentials. The location was perfect with a beautiful oceanfront view and just a few steps to the wide beach that is perfect for long strolls. Wonderful Spring Break
My family and I had a wonderful few days staying at this incredible home. The sunrises can’t be beat - spent each morning having coffee on the porch watching the sunrise and listening to the birdsong. Walks on the beach, bike rides for ice cream, and coffees at School Grounds Coffee. We will come back to stay a bit longer soon. Thanks for sharing this crazy beautiful house with us.

Great place with awesome views
We really enjoyed our time in this cottage. Kurt was great and very accommodating to our needs. This is a beautiful property with a wonderful view. This is definitely a place to go to disconnect and relax. Nothing to do with the accommodation, but highly recommend planning ahead with your food needs and meals before arriving to the island if you are new to Daufuskie experience. This is a great place to take your children, especially if you are adventurous. It would have been a great thing to do with younger children as an explorer game.
