The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable for our family seven. Communication with the owner was great. The location is a bit ‘out there’ but not bad. Custer is a cute little town. Thanks for having us!
Wonderful place to enjoy the Black Hills! Quiet & peaceful but close enough to attractions to not be inconvenient. The pass to Custer State Park was an added bonus! All very clean & comfortable. Our needs were taken care of quickly - excellent communication with the host. Highly recommend.
We loved the beauty and serene location of this cabin. We enjoyed off-roading at the nearby bluebird trailhead….30 minutes or so from cabin. Great family time together sitting on deck at night and around fire pit. Thanks for sharing cabin with us!
This is a very nice place to stay. Close to custard state park, needles highway and UTV trails. Everything we wanted to do . We were nervous about no air conditioning but it cooled down each night and they had plenty of fans to make it comfortable. We had turkeys and deer running in the yard that was a plus. Parking trailers is tricky but we were able to make it work. Would highly recommend this place.
If your looking for a great escape from traffic, people and life in general this is the place. Peace and quite was the general theme. The deer and turkeys graced us with their presence for coffee and cocktails. The deck was awesome. Great job to the cleaning staff of this very nicely set up house … it was spotless.

Pinewoods getaway
Very welcoming cabin; exceptionally clean & well stocked. Photos are slightly misleading when it comes to parking space but we were able to make it work for the truck & trailer. Communication for final check in information was slow;. Since we were driving from out of state , having the details earlier would have been helpful. Be aware: as you get close the roads are not paved; gravel only & locals do not drive slow. Overall, a pleasant stay
Had such a good time - enjoyed the FULL kitchen and three bedrooms! Close to Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore and Custer State Park - all recommended places to see. Hoping to have an opportunity to visit again and stay here.
Had a great time with a group of my friends. Cabin was beautiful, quiet, well-stocked and comfortable. The perfect base camp after exploring the park and trails all day.
First time visiting Black Hills & Custer SP for hiking and fishing; booked at the last minute and could not have been happier with the outcome. The nearby attractions can get pretty crowded and we really appreciated the quiet & solitude of this location. The house is very functional inside and out and made a great home base for exploring the area.
We had a wonderful time while staying at Pinewoods Getaway, the accommodations were perfect for our family! The home was very clean and included everything to make our stay a comfortable one. We enjoyed the view from the large wrap around deck, the overhang helped keep us dry with the rainy weather. Our grandchildren enjoyed seeing the deer and turkeys that came thru the yard. We would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a quiet, beautiful place off the beaten path!
The Pinewoods Cabin was everything we wanted and more. Not only was it cozy and immaculate, the location and view were unbelievable! It is at least a 15 minute drive on dirt roads ( well maintained) but the destination is worth it. The kitchen is very well equipped and they even left complimentary coffee pods and snacks on the counter- very thoughtful! If I could give this house 10 stars I would. We would definitely recommend this house and will rent from Candace again
We loved our stay at the cabin. They had everything we needed for an enjoyable visit. We saw lots of deer and even wild turkeys. It was so peaceful and nice for a relaxing evening after a full day of sightseeing. I particularly liked sitting outside in the mornings and evenings looking for wildlife. The beds were very comfortable and they had a huge selection of kitchenware for my sister-in-law who loves to cook. And, the kids were very happy with the wifi! We all enjoyed our visit.
Starting from the cabin: clean, comfortable, spacious, extremely well furnished. We were a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 children) and it fit our needs perfectly.
Location: we loved the little valley it sits in and the views. Incredibly private and peaceful. It is very tempting to just sit on the deck and enjoy the views. For folks like us coming from the East coast the concept of a gravel road may be concerning but it is truly not an issue, it actually adds to the charm.
We had a great time, and we'll be back!
The property was even better than expected. The cabin was bigger than I expected with more extras than I thought would be included. We took advantage of the horseshoe pit, and used the BBQ every night. And even though we didn't need it, the state park pass was an added bonus I never thought of. The location was perfect to unplug and enjoy nature, and quiet, if you want quiet this is the place. Thanks for everything, we will be back.

Very clean, well appointed property, more amenities than are actually listed in the listing.
It is is bit far out of town and off the highway but a very peaceful setting.
Overall a great stay, would stay again!
The facility was excellent and the scenery was spectacular.
The location was perfect for exploring the Black Hills and Custer State Park, which was a serendipity experience.
We would happily stay at this log cabin home again.
It had very nice and comfortable beds. The cabin was clean and had some snacks when we got there. It had an amazing view and had like everything you would need in a kitchen. It had more than enough room for our family. Overall this cabin was very nice to stay in.
The home was far enough away from town that we could unwind and enjoy the wind blowing through the trees (surreal)! Easy to get to places when we did go (but honestly it was so nice at the house we chose to stay there mostly)
