We stayed early September 2019, Monday to Saturday (5 nights) there should have been four of us plus the family dog although only two of us could make the holiday (without the dog). Good to know well behaved pets can be accommodated if agreed with Mark (property manager). We visit Ireland every year as we love the country and have family here! The property is as described and as per photos and is very well equipped for families, those with young children or older children and would also probably suit two couples due to there being two good sized double bedrooms, one with en-suite and an additional bathroom. The third bedroom has good sized bunk beds. Great kitchen/diner and sitting room. This property doesn’t feel like a holiday rental but more like a lived in home from home; this also means that there is the expected reasonable wear and tear within the house - do bear in mind kids and pets stay here! There’s a patio area and garden and if the weather’s wet, there’s dvd’s, board games, toys, books etc to keep the family entertained. The location of the property is excellent in a small residential quiet cul de sac with friendly neighbours and backs onto open space/field. Curracloe Hotel is over the road (literally!) and great for drinks and serves food; lovely welcoming and friendly staff. 5 minute drive to Curracloe Beach (yes, Saving Private Ryan was filmed here as we’ve also been to Omaha Beach in Normandy!), beach not within walking distance though. You can also take dogs on the beach and it’s probably one of the best beaches in Ireland! 5 minute drive into lovely Wexford town which is a good size with loads of shops and restaurants. 30 minute drive to Kilmore Quay (always a go to for the area and fish n chips!) and lots of other things to find to do within an hour or so drive. We were also a 35 minute drive to family in Wellingtonbridge, not to near or too far! We loved staying here as found the area quiet and convenient with everything we needed and enjoyed the space for just the two of us. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and if we were going to relocate to Ireland, we’d be very happy living in this house/area! The only reason we have scored 4 stars overall and not 5 is due to the wear and tear versus the rental charge for the period and lots of spiders dangling from the ceiling, first impressions. However, for us, these are minor concerns and we would still recommend this property as a great family holiday rental.
