Everything we hoped for

We went away with some friends. We have never stayed together, so I was really looking for a house that had some separate living spaces. This house was perfect for us. The kitchen was very well stocked, although, there are not measuring cups which was odd. All of the beds were comfortable. The wrap around porch was lovely. The hot tub was utilized, and hours of pool were played! The pool table was super nice and a massive bonus for a weekend of not great weather. We had a maintenance issue and it was taken care of incredibly fast. I will say the listing states the the driveway is steep, that is no joke, we had to shovel wet leaves because the trucks in 4wd slipped. The walk down to the lake is also a hike, we all found it lovely, however, for people with any mobility issues it would be intense. Overall, we had an amazing time. The house was clean and exactly what we hoped for.

family vacation

very nice house. Enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. Bed rooms comfy and liked that there was a bathroom on each floor. Property was well kept. Cannot see the lake from the house and the walk to the lake was steep and difficult to maneuver.

Nice Location

The property was very nice and location was beautiful. I was disappointed in the bedrooms, bedspreads were very shabby and stained. The carpeting throughout was also stained and dirty. All the bathrooms were nicely updated and clean. Kitchen was great, well equipped and clean. The house was hot when we got there and a lot of screens were missing or not fitted properly so they windows could not be opened. We had to call about broken garbage disposal and your staff took care of it right away.

Wonderful house!

The house was very clean upon arrival! Towels and linens were in place. (The sheets are a little scratchy so might want to bring your own if that's a concern.) The kitchen is well equipped! The listing pictures make the rooms look larger than they are but the front porch is much bigger than it appears in the photos! We really loved the porch...beautiful trees, private setting. Heads up...bears do make an appearance almost every day. They try to get in the bear-proof trash cans. We enjoyed watching them from the porch of course! Lol. The house does get warm if the outdoor temps approach 80. We brought extra fans and Railey brought a few over as well. Railey Realty was very responsive...we had a couple items come up (extra fans, sewer cap in front yard overflowing) and they came to the house within an hour or 2. The lake access is not very accessible. It is probably the equivalent of 4 or 5 flights of stairs with no handrail. No lake view from the house. The house is 3 full stories. The main entrance actually walks into the basement/ gameroom. The kitchen/living is upstairs and the master suite is on the 3rd floor. Lots of stairs and a steep driveway. We parked 4 vehicles comfortably.

Extremely Dirty

This house has a horrible musty odor and pet stains all over carpet. There is a rusty tack trip exposed right outside of the downstairs bathroom that my husband stepped on and cut his foot. Since there is no air conditioning you have to open windows, and all of the windows are covered in spider webs and bugs. Deck is covered in green moss, needs cleaned or pressure washed. When wet extremely slippery. We had a nice time with friends and family but this house isn’t worth the price being charged.

Pros and Cons

First the positives: This Is a nice house with plenty of space for a large group. It’s also nice to have access to the lake and a dock slip. The negatives: This home is in major need of new flooring, especially on the main level. The carpet is very stained and causes a pet odor smell throughout. The basement level is also a bit musty smelling. It’s a really nice house, just needs some TLC. Also, it’s a big long hill with steps to get to and from the dock slip. So I wouldn’t recommend this to a family with someone older or with health issues who wants to walk to the dock slip/lake.

Beautiful home

This house was beautiful with Lots of steps.. we had the windows opened the entire stay for the breeze. There is no lake view but access was right across the street and down the steps. Loved the hut tub and pool table. We very much appreciated the living quarters on the first floor for family members who were unable to walk the steps.

Not what we expected.

In short, laundry from the previous tenants was left outside, broken chairs at fire ring, the paperwork wasn't emailed properly which didn't give us the correct code to enter, the grill didn't work, lake access meant sharing a neighbor's dock 500' downhill, and two TV's did not work. Not to mention the random charge to my account and the outrageous cleaning fee. We only stayed at deep creek to finish our vacation from the outer banks after evacuation. With these types of fees and issues, we will not be back!
