Great for history buffs and Outlander fans! Took the back roads to get there and had such an enjoyable experience all around!

Get there early...so many bus tours coming through. Go right away upstairs, pay extra 2 lbs for next guided outdoor tour. DO NOT MISS THE LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS UPSTAIRS. Stick around to see each and every one. Then go back and do the walking tour, WITH the audio guides.

Excellent site. Only planned for hour and half. Ended up staying three hours! Very informative and great background for history of Scotland.

The bus is the cheapest way to travel, if you don’t have your own car. Due to time limits we went by taxi to and from. The museum and battlefield were very moving and well worth a visit. There was even a demonstration on how to wear an 8 ft kilt. It was all very interesting!

Enjoy the trails through the fields and don't just stick to the main tourist-crowded main trails. It's a beautiful field full of history and it was nice to wander over away from people and really contemplate the history.

Be sure to get the audio as the written material was vague for those of us who did not study the event prior to arriving. Also, the local cab service desperately needs Uber competition.
