The property was not clean as expected (dirty floors and cobwebs), there were broken items (coffee maker, toaster, porch chair), and it is located on a busy street. Nice location to the redwoods and some house updates.

Short stay

We had a short stay in Crescent city wanted a place we could crash as a family of eight. Marshawn‘s home was perfect for what we needed. It had all the amenities and more and was close to shops and restaurants. Marshawn was quick to respond to any issues and made us feel comfortable in his home. We would definitely stay again thank you

Great house! 2 apple trees!

We came to hike in the redwoods. Loved the well stocked kitchen, comfy beds. Very clean. We had great stay.

Family road trip

Great stop before hitting the Redwoods. Clean, beautifully decorated and large rooms There was plenty of towels and little extras through the house. The host was quick to respond to any questions. My whole family highly recommends this VBRO

Such a great update of this lovely home. The more you stay in VRBOs, the more you appreciate the great ones—which this is. Our granddaughter LOVED the Diva room and the Alexa ability to announce to the rest of us. Such fun

House was top notch. Everything you could possibly need. From spices to extra blankets. Extremely prompt in all communication!! All kinds of little extras. Coffee, creamer waffle mix, I could go on!! Location is close to absolutely everything. Great stay. Thank you so much!!

Amazing home and great amenities!

This is the the best rental experience I have in regards to feeling like I’m in a welcoming hotel rather than someone else’s home. This house is newly renovated, furnished and decorated and it’s very well done. Fits the “Modern Vintage” name perfectly. Plenty of towels, dishes, etc. snacks and waters when you arrive. Lots of games, movies, and video games for kids. Very friendly and communicative owner. House is located right off the busy road, but it’s centrally located if you need that. We were very impressed with our stay.

Awesome experience!!!

We stayed here to visit Redwood National Park. Marshawn was so helpful- the check in and out process was seamless. The house itself is so comfortable and has everything- many amenities and supplies are already there for guests to use- so much more than what we’ve had at other VRBO properties. When I accidentally left our rental car lights on overnight, the neighbors alerted Marshawn and he went above and beyond to try to alert us as well to help us find some one to help jump start the car. I simply can’t recommend him or this home enough. We had a wonderful stay. We will be back if we are in the northwest again!!!

I'm torn on how to respond.

Here's my dilemma; The house was ok, but we had a nearly catastrophic issue. I booked this house for my wife and 4 of my elders to stay. When we arrived my aunt pointed out the downstairs bathtub wasn't clean and had a lot of hair in it and the floors in the kitchen were dirty. I thought she was being picky, but then another member pulled back the covers to find a lot and I'm not meaning 1 or 2 I mean like a lot a hair and debris all over the sheets and pillows. This led to everyone checking and I had to take pictures as every single bed had this issue. It took everything I had to keep them in the house as they wanted to leave and not deal with changing sheets and washing. I explained this to the owner and they apologized immediately. I explained my theory was the cleaning crew either overloaded the washer for all sheets to be covered like this or the washing machine may need to be changed out. Either way it's hard because all of us felt gross staying here and were not able to relax as everyone was then looking for every little thing wrong like the stairs not being to code (guessing) because the steps are not all the same height to the flooring not being finished in all areas with trim. I'm not going to destroy the owner with a 1- rating because that's what I felt like at the time listening to everyone go nuts on me for booking such a "gross" place, but I truly believe this was a one off and hope they work things out with the cleaning crew to change. Great property owner

We did enjoy our stay in Crescent City for the most part. I would say highlights are the house is cute, great amount of space and close to anything city related (local fast food chains, for example). The property owner is fantastic and very responsive which made some minor issues we experienced a lot better.When we arrived to the location it wasn't cleaned very well. The property owner was quickly responsive on how we could solve the issue. One other item that wasn't great, was the location is in the middle of town and the environment around the house made us nervous to go out at night or leave the windows open for fresh air. I really do appreciate the owner taking care of us so quickly and kindly.

Great stay

We travel to Crescent City often to visit friends who moved there. This property was in a great location to walk and get food. The kids and teens loved the video games, board games and outside games provided as well. We all had a great time!

My kids and I needed a little getaway and found this beautiful house. We loved the house and any questions or issues were immediately addressed by property manager. Wonderful experience and looking forward to visiting in the future. We will definitely book again and highly recommend this house!

This host does it right!

This is honestly one of the best VRBO experiences we've had. Warm, welcoming touches provided, snacks & coffee bar, music playing on Alexa when we arrived, beautifully furnished home, and great proximity to beach and Redwoods. Comfortable lodgings and excellent host communication. We will definitely be staying again!

Great house for young children + Lots of perks!

Marshawn is such an amazing host! He is so thoughtful and provides lots of extras things that you might not typically have at a Vrbo. This house was so great for our family! Video games for our children to enjoy, the Disney+ subscription led to us discovering two new movies that our family now loves, the boogie boards were a fun addition to our ocean playtime, our children loved using the laundry chute, the Amazon devices were an added convenience for our family since we already use them at our house. We also appreciated the dining guide Marshawn provided us as our stay at his Vrbo approached—we found a great place for inexpensive ice cream! We loved that this house had things for our young children to do. That makes a big difference in how we feel about being at the house. This house is a place in which we wanted to spend time. The check-out process is really simple and easy. We had some hiccups during our stay with the Amazon devices, but we loved this house. The kitchen and living room are very spacious. Marshawn focuses on making the experience great for his guests, and he really did made it feel like a vacation for our family. So many things were already at the house, so we didn’t need to provide them ourselves, and we hardly had to do anything at check-out. We highly recommend the Modern Vintage!

Comfortable & clean

Very clean home that is comfy and has everything you need. Neighborhood a bit rough . Very close to grocery store.great fridge and washer/dryer. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of little cosmetic issues with some of the diy projects like trim and flooring not meeting up well. Deck has multiple nails sticking up so watch your toes. Overall a nice place though.

Nice Large House, Great Location, Misleading Pool Access

My family loved our stay in this large and well-stocked house. The kitchen has more utensils and perks than many other VRBOs we have stayed in, and the appliances are all new and nice. My only complaint is that this house is listed as having access to a community pool. It talking with the host, this actually means there is a city pool within walking distance, which I found misleading. The host did agree to pay for my family's fee to go to the pool, but with its limited hours we were not able to go. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay.
