I haven't been to the Del for over 15 years. I was very impressed with the hotel. The rennovation the hotel did was excellent. The cottages were fabulous. Great view of the ocean and walking distance to the bech and the lovely town of Coronado. My wife and I had a great long weekend. The only downside is no room service since Covid but the town is so close you can walk to restaurants. Lovely weekend at the Del

We go to The Del for the 'old style' service. This grand and luxurious hotel has always been a wonderful retreat, and we go several times a year. It feels like home. At this time, the true value for ultimate service and hospitality is at Beach Village. If you want a lovely oceanfront hotel, stay in the Victorian building or the Shorehouse. If you want true luxury and service that stands the test of time, you have to stay in the Beach Village. I recommend it very highly.

A concert came through during our stay. A huge stage was constructed and a power generator the size of a semi was parked and started running right in front of our room. The staff apologized and gave us a credit for $250 to use at one of their restaurants - little did we know, a nice dinner at one of their restaurants runs about $200 + tip!!! So three of our seven days/nights were ruined.
