"I stayed at the Hotel Colorado for a long weekend over Halloween, and I was very happy with my time there. It's a great hotel with a ton of charm and history. The staff were all super friendly, and the room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. I did ask for a quiet room at check-in and was given one on the third floor facing the interior courtyard. While you could hear chatter by the fire pits, it subsided around 11pm each night. Interior noise was at a minimum. The radiators did create some noise throughout the night, but this is a 100+ year old property so some squeaks, groans, and whistles were expected. The bathroom was tight, but there was a separate sitting area just outside the bathroom door that you could place additional toiletries on. The bed and pillows were comfy, and the room was spacious with high ceilings and a lot of natural light (plenty of lamps too). Parking was never an issue, the food at the restaurant was great and I never had a wait. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. If you're expecting a thoroughly modern hotel with all the accoutrements, I would probably look elsewhere. However, if you want charm and history, this is the place to stay. I never felt I compromised comfort or convenience for charm though. It is a perfectly lovely and comfortable place to stay."

"Really loved the property and its amenities and walking distance to the surrounding attractions, the room was also modern and cozy. Some of the towels were dirty and the breakfast was below average. "

"I stayed here on my way to Chicago for the 2025 Marathon, and I’m so glad I chose this hotel. My trip by rail was already epic, and I wanted to check out the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. This hotel made it all even better. Hotel Maxwell Anderson has been around since the early 1900s, beautifully updated but still full of character. Stepping inside felt like walking through history with all the comforts of today. My room was spotless, cozy, and quiet. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond. They helped me get discounts for the Adventure Park and even told me about a local rideshare that costs just one dollar. I can’t sing enough praises for this place. If you’re ever passing through or planning an adventure nearby, I highly recommend staying here."
