"I grew up in Eugene and spent many days on the McKenzie River. We’ve been out of state for many years now but still come back to Oregon as often as we can. This was the perfect property to enjoy reminiscing with some of our grown children. Very cozy setting and everything we needed. We caught one of the Pineapple Express storms that I remember growing up and even had a long power outage where we enjoyed the wood stove and improvising. The host was helpful throughout our stay and kept us updated on the power outage. The sound of the river was so therapeutic! The only drawback really was not having more time…we’ll definitely be coming back!"
"We found this to be a cozy and welcoming cabin with a view of the river. The listing and photos described the property exactly. Very clean. Kitchen area is compact but well equipped. There is a 2-burner electric cooktop and microwave, no oven. Beds are comfortable. The 3-sided windowed nook with the additional queen bed was a great place to chill out. Very dog friendly - water dish, dog towels, poo bags. Try the pizza at Takoda’s Restaurant and take the time to hike Sahalie Falls. We enjoyed our time here and look forward to a return trip."
"We had a fun stay along the McKenzie River. The cabin was well stocked with basic needs and games, but mostly we lounged near the river where there was plenty of space and privacy for fishing or relaxing. We will definitely plan to stay again. This cabin was a great weekend escape with lots of nearby hiking and fishing. "
"Rented the unit for a 5 day fishing/hiking adventure on the river with a long time friend. We couldn’t possibly have been more pleased with everything about the home and the rental process! From the decor to the well appointed bedrooms, showers, kitchen and relaxing living room we just felt lucky to have found and secured the home! It’s a very special place right along the river with great access to many of the commercial businesses nearby while also feeling so remote in the Cascade foothills. Would definitely return and couldn’t recommend it more. Thanks again for all your attention to every detail. "
"The McKenzie River house is right next to the river and all of its magnificence. Everything inside the house is there for you to enjoy the river and your stay. We are a group of plein air painters and this was our annual retreat. The wide deck above the river was very important to us to set up our easels for the views. The front wooded acreage was an alternate subject for our paintings. The sunshine through the trees beautiful.Tim was so reassuring and attentive, leaving flowers and wine to welcome us. Some of us enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor shower, and river swing. We cooked fabulous meals in the well appointed kitchen. The huge dining table was our gathering place. This was one of our most favorite places to paint outdoors."
The North Bank Cabin,100ft private McKenzie Riverfront, Grill, 20min to Falls
10/10 Excellent
"It was more rustic than I expected but very comfortable. The deck space was relaxing and nice. It's a great spot to enjoy the sounds of nature and we didn't see any neighbors while we were there. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but additional drinking glasses and some wine glasses would have been nice. There are restaurants and a store surprisingly close by and the Obsidian Grill even offers some gluten free and vegan options. Two very minor complaints about the house: 1. It has some funky smells - old home where someone used to smoke? and mildew/mold in bathroom. 2. There is no streaming service on the TV. I like to stream a movie or show in the evening after a day of hiking. The DVDs I was most interested in watching were empty cases. Overall though this was a great experience and the home is located right near lots of beautiful waterfalls and trails. I would recommend it!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway in this house. The amenities were great with plenty of linens and some extra nice touches. It was overall comfortable and well put together. A great location near hiking trails and having the river right there. "
Fairway View Family home with 5 Bdrm 3 bth located on the 7th hole of Big Meadow
10/10 Excellent
"We had a big family (13) with grandparents, married adult children, and their teenage children. The house is big and the advertisement is incorrect because there are actually five toilets in the house, not three! Each bedroom has its own toilet, but two share a shower. Great house for space and visiting. When we checked in, we could not find a lockbox to open the front door so be aware it’s on the left side of the house by the owners closet outside under the eave. The kitchen was well equipped, but I had messaged ahead of time and asked if there was a crockpot and didn’t hear back. We find it’s best to look at what’s in the kitchen and then go grocery shopping anyway. The deck was nice and the furniture was comfortable. Also pretty views from the deck. Would recommend this house and would go back! It’s not close to most Black Butte amenities but you can drive to them. "
