"The DoubleTree worked well for a conference stay, but there are a few things worth knowing before booking. The room was clean, comfortable, and a decent size. The bed was nice, the bathroom was updated, and the air conditioning worked well, although the window unit was loud. The hotel itself feels dated, but reasonably maintained for its age. The biggest issue is room location. One side faces the cemetery and the other faces I-35. If you are sensitive to noise, pay extra for the cemetery side because the highway noise goes on all night. The location is convenient for UT and easy Uber access, but there is not much within walking distance besides a Dennys next door. Parking also costs extra. Overall, it is a solid mid-range hotel if you just need a place to sleep near campus for a conference or short trip. If you want a more modern experience or a hotel surrounded by restaurants and entertainment, look elsewhere."
