Basecamp is a newly remodeled farmhouse just 15 minutes from Winston Salem & 25 minutes from Pilot Mt/Hanging Rock State Parks. Enjoy the country feel, while being close enough to fully enjoy hiking, mountain biking, kayaking , climbing, and many other activities. It is the ideal place to unwind after a day full of adventures, with a dip in the pool, disc-golf, or smores by the fire pit.

Lots of toys for the puppy and plenty of space to run around. Backyard was amazing with lots of different activities. Overall and excellent stay for us as we bridged the gap of moving into our new home.

Booked this property for a four night anniversary trip to enjoy the outdoor space as described on VRBO site (July 24, 2025 - July 28, 2025). Found: overgrown lawn; broken grill/grilling area dirty; broken patio window with trash bags on it; broken ice maker; dirty/smelly couch covers w/holes; overgrown shrubbery in walkway of pool/around pool area; pictures on VRBO site do not reflect what we experienced. The most disturbing aspect of the property was finding 9 cameras with 4 facing directly on/in the "PRIVATE POOL" (as described online) area without dislosure. There is another camera located in the patio sitting area, 2 facing the back yard, and 2 facing out front.We expressed our concern to the owner regarding the cameras especially on/in pool area. Owner stated cameras were enabled and recording. VRBO policy, on surveillance cameras, states that cameras on the pool and hot tub areas must disclosed, which were not.We drove 6 hrs one way for pool fun/grilling/enjoying outdoors with pup only to leave early which ruined our 28 yr anniversary. Very upsetting and disappointed.

Owner was excellent and communication was quick and easy. Unfortunately, the outside of the property was very overgrown and needed attention. Pool was nice during a heatwave. Enjoyed the dog friendly house with the family.

Quiet Country Location Just Minutes From Winston Salem

Super quiet private location with large backyard. Well appointed property with everything you need to live comfortably. Grocery and Restaurant deliveries are available. Bring your dog. They'll love the yard. Highly recommended for the whole family.

Cozy and Quiet

The home was lovely, clean, peaceful and spacious. The location was far enough away from noise and major traffic,but a short drive from necessities and stores for whatever you need. The host was amazing! They communicated with me to make sure I was able to check in and was available for the few questions that I had throughout my stay. The yard was so big and a lot of fun, I would visit this location again. Thank you!

Great home base for W-S visit

Our family stayed here for Wake graduation weekend. While it is about 20 minutes from campus, it was a perfect home base for relaxing and refreshing between official activities. Clean, quiet, super recreation activities all right there. The house is small but has everything we needed. Would happily stay here again.

Beautiful and Quiet

My husband and I stayed here during our wedding weekend. This property has so much space! A very friendly vibe and full sized pool. Sadly, it was too cold the weekend we were there to go swimming, but everything was nice and clean. The owner is very responsive and so very sweet.

Germanton House

The dog-friendliness, the pool, and the quiet were the most important aspects of this property to us. The fence is very sturdy and secure and our dogs loved running and playing in the very large yard. Even though the property is close to the road, it is not busy, it is very quiet and private. The house is very comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped and the Wi-fi and TV worked great. The pool is beautiful and very clean. It has a great firepit area. Both the firepit and the pool have lots of chairs and chaises available. You could spend a whole vacation just lounging and relaxing by the firepit and the pool without going out. Such a great place! Also, the owner is very responsive and helpful to any questions.

Quiet, clean, well laid out. The hidden gem is the backyard. Our dog just went crazy running around in the acres of fenced in yard. The pool area is lovely and clean. The only thing I could have wished for is a full length mirror on the back of a door to review appearance. Other than that minor, nitpicking desire, couldn't have been better.
