Queen bed rooms are extremely small.The town area is very lous That said the room themselves are otherwise nice and I think it's one of the better hotels in the area.

I booked this hotel with no knowledge of the area. Though it was about 25 mins away from where I was going, the hotel was beautiful,clean and unique (the building was formerly a bank). I would definitely stay here again, everyone was nice and welcoming.

It is a lovely hotel, right smack in the creative eating area. It can be noisy on a Saturday night, but fun as well If that’s what interests you. The Restaurant was very good. Staff very attentive and pleasant. Cute place in a restored bank building.

The room was great the restaurant was great. Unfortunately I didn't get much sleep because the 2 bars right next door and across the street kept the party going till 3am-ish and was very loud. I recommend staying on weekdays but weekends only if you don't mind some restless nights.

The area was unsafe with vagrants wandering outside and no nearby dining open past 9pm. All amenities inside the hotel were closed and it seemed haunted; old bank with law offices and other memorabilia remaining sometimes adds character, but this was simply creepy. The hotel was nearly empty and had a scary parking lot and outdoor fire escape. The front desk people were nice and the room was clean, but the location and property caused me to leave a night early to avoid a haunting.

There is a nightclub right next door to the hotel and EVERY Friday and Saturday night, the music is blasting until 3am!! You can hear it from ALL of the rooms in the hotel and the only thing that the front desk could do is offer us some earplugs. Also, we ordered some extra towels and they brought them up and placed them on the ground without a bag. They put clean towels on the dirty floor. We would NOT recommend this hotel.

Great hotel, super noisy downtown
The Esquire is great, but the noise of the small city was unmanageable. There were loud motorcycles going up and down the main street in front of the hotel until 3:00am. The historic building is truly beautiful and unique, but unfortunately we won’t be staying at the Esquire in the future.

Lovely but Little
Friendly staff, beautiful boutique hotel. The room was gorgeous but Small! No closet or bin space. We have to step over our luggage to go the bathroom. Hubby and I exclaimed in unison, “It’s like the Grand Hotel in Tiranë, Albania.” Lol We had to put our luggage on the balcony there as it didn’t fit in the room. The bathroom is tiny but clean and nice amenities, I love the body wash. Restaurant closes early and everything with exception of a couple dubious pubs close early to in the immediate vicinity. Very walkable during the day. All in all, I’d have given 5 stars if we didn’t have to climb over everything in the room, and I’d definitely stay again only ask for a bigger room.

Mouse ran across the floor when we opened the door to our room. The front desk said they would issue a refund immediately and days later i had to call about it. Very disappointing experience with this hotel.

Property was very well redeveloped. Staff somewhat under trained. The biker bar adjacent to property starts with loud music and loud muffler noise at 9:30 pm until 2:00 am. Impossible to sleep. Front desk not as concerned as they should have been. Disappointing experience

Excellent customer service by Meagan at the front desk, room was clean, quiet, well appointed, and comfortable. The Barrister restaurant on site was superb; great food, very accommodating to food allergies, and very helpful waiter (Angela) who listened and did everything to make our dining experience wonderful. This is our new go to place in the greater Charlotte area.
