Poor property management and communication
I actually didn't end up staying at the property so I cannot speak to the location and condition of the apartment (Vrbo required that I rate those things and while I did select 1 star, I do want to be honest about those things. The rating reflects my overall experience). I booked the location Sat 4/27 for a 1 night stay 5/3. I received an instant booking confirmation from Vrbo/the host. Tues 4/30, I received an email from Vrbo with property details, but no check-in instructions stating the host hadn't provided them yet. Thurs 5/2, I still had not received instructions from the host, so I contacted them via Vrbo. I received a cancelation notification a short time later stating the dates were unavailable. I reached out to the host, and she replied back that the property was booked through another booking site and I would receive a refund. No apology-just a cut and dry response. I asked why I was just being notified (less than 24 hrs before my trip) when the reservation had been confirmed almost a week prior. Again, no apology-just the excuse it had been booked through another site. I told the host that it was poor management and her response was unprofessional...telling her I planned to notify Vrbo of the way it was handled. Her response was "Have fun with that",that Vrbo had messed up the reservation. I understand there might've been a breakdown between the host and Vrbo, but her response was rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't choose to stay at a property managed by this host
