Hôtel iconique, plein de charme. Le dîner et le petit-déjeuner sont copieux et délicieux. Nous avons également vraiment apprécié la gentillesse du personnel. De nombreuses randonnées sont possibles autour de l'hôtel et la vue est tout simplement magnifique. A découvrir sans hésiter !

Exceptional location. Cool, vintage-looking hotel. Rooms are very oldschool, which is cool. Bathrooms should have followed the same style.

Uma experiência única.

Nada igual, uma experiência única que todos deveria ter, de passar uma noite em um hotel mágico nas montanhas, tratamento intimista, vista impecável, eu nem tenho palavras. O conforto do quarto é 10/10 e a alimentação é de alto nível.

Our stay at Montenvers was great. The hotel appearred lovingly restored to it's original glory. It was a realitively easy and comfortable way to immerse in some of the most beautiful mtns in the world. The food was very good. The views from our room of the glacier and mtns were fantastic.

Staying in a hotel in the mountains above Chamonix, accessible only by a quaint train (30 minutes) where you can go on incredible hikes or just relax on the patio and stare at the glorious mountains... well, it doesn't get better than that. Everyone on the staff was attentive and nice, and the family room was perfect for my husband, myself, and our teenage daughter (who got her own space). We loved it!!

A historical hotel with excellent food. Love the hotel dogs( love to play stick) and the feline friend in the dinning area. The view from the room are wow. Would i be back? Yes.

Experiencia Incrível!

Experiencia incrível no meio das montanhas. Vale a pena! Café da manhã e jantar muito gostosos e bem acolhedor. A vista sensacional para as montanhas. Hotel fica isolado, bom para momentos a dois. Não esqueça de levar tudo que precisa, pois não há comercio algum ao redor.

The refuge cancelled our booking on the day. This might be ok for a normal hotel but when the hotel is in the middle of a mountain, only accessible by a 2.5 hour hike (or a tiny train that is on strike - it’s France after all) then it is simply unacceptable to let your guests arrive at the door tired, hungry & thirsty to see a sign that says ‘sorry we’re closed, we tried to contact you’. We had indeed received a message from the hotel that morning but it confirmed that, despite the train strike, the hotel remains open if you are happy to walk. We had always planned to hike so we set off as normal, paying 85 euros for the cable car up. A few hours later they sent 1 further email to cancel the booking completely but of course we were already up the mountain & didn’t see it. No phone calls or voicemails (except from Expedia, later that evening) so they let us hike for hours, not knowing the hotel was closed. In the end, we had no choice but to hike all the way back down the mountain with blisters on our feet, no food & no water because of course we had not planned for such a long hike all in 1 day. We had booked half board & this hotel isn’t cheap compared to a typical refuge! Absolutely disappointed. Not even a follow up email to apologise, just a request for a review. Charming

Un cadre exceptionnel, mais l’expérience ne suit pas. Nous habitons à Chamonix et nous étions ravis de séjourner enfin au Montenvers - le site est spectaculaire et le dîner était vraiment bon. Cependant, pour le prix payé, l’expérience globale nous a déçus. L’intérieur a besoin d’un vrai coup de neuf. L’espace bar souffre d’un éclairage peu flatteur et manque cruellement de chaleur et de convivialité - une occasion manquée vu le cadre montagnard exceptionnel. Les chambres sont basiques, voire décevantes pour ce niveau de prix. Le plus frustrant : aucune communication sur les horaires du train. Même en tant que locaux, on a trouvé ça confus - on imagine à peine la difficulté pour les visiteurs qui dépendent du train comme seul moyen d’accès en hiver. Il y a un superbe hôtel qui ne demande qu’à émerger ici. Le potentiel est là - le site fait déjà une grande partie du travail. Mais il faut investir dans les intérieurs pour créer le refuge alpin chaleureux qu’il pourrait être, et repenser complètement la communication et le service client. Pour l’instant, l’établissement se repose sur la vue.
