The town of Apt is 20 km away and is famous for its delicious candied fruits, which you can buy every Saturday at the charming market. Céreste is on the edge of the Parc Naturel Régional du Lubéron: here you can make many beautiful walks and car trips.

Pretty, Provençal villages such as Lacoste and Oppède are well worth a visit. The picturesque village of Lacoste is cascading down a mountainside and is very popular with artists. The ghost of Marquis de Sade still haunts Lacoste. It was once home to his imposing castle, of which only a ruin now remains. Other picturesque villages and towns are also worth a visit, such as the beautiful Gordes with its Village des Bories, the Provençal village of Bonnieux, Roussillon with its red hills, the well-known Menerbes (from the stories of the English writer Peter Mail) and l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, also called the Venice of Provence. A visit to the "Abbaye de Saint Hilaire" and the "Abbaye de Senanque", or the 2 weekly antique markets in l'Isle sur-la-Sorgue is an absolute must. In short, there is something to discover every day in this beautiful part of Provence
