Welcome to Lake View Retreat in Center Barnstead, New Hampshire — a comfortable year-round getaway with beautiful lake and mountain views, family-friendly amenities, and plenty of space to relax, play, and spend time together.

Located in the Locke Lake community, the home is just a few minutes’ walk from a shared community beach and offers easy access to outdoor recreation throughout the year. Whether you're planning summer lake days, a fall foliage getaway, a winter ski trip, or a quiet spring escape, the house is designed to make your stay comfortable and easy.

The Space

This three-bedroom, two-bath home comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and offers separate spaces for relaxing, gathering, working, and having fun.

The bright living room features comfortable seating, a TV, and beautiful lake and mountain views. Large windows bring in plenty of natural light and make the view part of the experience.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home, while the dining area provides a comfortable place to enjoy breakfast before heading out for the day or gather for dinner in the evening.

Step outside onto the balcony to enjoy your morning coffee, take in the peaceful surroundings, or relax with a drink while watching the lake and mountains.

Bedrooms & Sleeping

The home has three bedrooms:

• Two bedrooms feature comfortable queen beds.
• The kids’ and teens’ bedroom has four twin beds and its own space to relax, making it a fun setup for children, teens, siblings, or a group of friends.

Game Room

The separate game room is a great place to spend time together after a day of exploring or skiing.

Enjoy the pool table, darts, TV, board games, and puzzles. It is especially useful on rainy days, snowy evenings, or whenever you simply want to stay in and have some fun.

Outdoor Space

The property offers several ways to enjoy the outdoors.

Relax on the balcony, grill dinner on the gas grill, or gather around the fire pit in the evening. The yard provides space to enjoy fresh New Hampshire air and spend time together.

Giant yard games, including Connect Four, Giant Jenga, and cornhole, are available during suitable weather.

Please note that the property is located on a sloped lot and the yard is not fenced.

Lake & Beach Access

The home has beautiful views of Locke Lake and is not lakefront.

Guests have shared access to the lake through a nearby community beach, located just a few minutes’ walk from the property. The community also offers additional recreational areas and beaches.

Seasonal kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, life jackets, and beach toys are provided for guest use, generally from early April through early November, weather and lake conditions permitting.

Community Amenities

Community amenities are shared with other residents and guests and are subject to community rules, seasonal availability, and weather conditions.

The home includes a plug-in-ready workspace with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, laptop stand, and docking station, making it easy to connect your laptop and work comfortably.

Enjoy the flexibility of working remotely while still having the opportunity to step away and enjoy the lake, mountains, and surrounding area.

EV Charging

A Level 2 EV charger is available on-site for guest use, making the property convenient for guests traveling with an electric vehicle.

Winter Getaways & Skiing

Winter transforms the Lakes Region into a beautiful destination for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, and relaxing by the fire.

Gunstock Mountain Resort is approximately 30 minutes away and offers skiing, snowboarding, and other mountain activities. After a day on the slopes, return to the house for a warm meal, a game of pool, a movie, or an evening around the fire pit.

The game room and comfortable living spaces make the home a great option for a family ski trip or winter weekend with friends.

Fall Foliage

Fall is one of the most beautiful times to visit New Hampshire.

Enjoy colorful foliage, scenic drives, hiking, local attractions, and peaceful evenings overlooking the lake. The surrounding Lakes Region offers plenty of opportunities to explore the outdoors and experience classic New England fall scenery.

Spring & Summer

During the warmer months, enjoy easy access to Locke Lake and the community beach, take out a kayak or SUP, play golf, tennis, or pickleball, or simply relax outside at the house.

The balcony provides a beautiful place to start the morning, while the grill and fire pit make it easy to enjoy relaxed evenings outdoors.

Guest Access

Guests have private access to the entire home, game room, balcony, driveway, yard, grill, fire pit, and Level 2 EV charger.

Shared lake and beach access is available through the nearby community beach, just a few minutes’ walk from the house.

Guests may also enjoy the community’s 6-hole golf course and tennis and pickleball courts, subject to community rules and availability.

Self check-in is available through a smart lock.

Important Things to Know

This is a lake-view home, not a lakefront property. Shared lake access is available through a nearby community beach and is not directly from the property.

The home has multiple levels and is located on a sloped lot, so stairs are required.

The property is located in a quiet residential lake community with neighboring homes nearby. Please respect the community and observe quiet hours beginning at 10:00 PM.

The yard is not fenced. Pets must be supervised and leashed outdoors, and pets are not permitted on shared community beaches.

Kayaks and SUPs are seasonal and are generally available from early April through early November. Availability may change depending on ice, weather, water levels, and other lake conditions.

Toiletries: We provide hand soap and dish soap. To help accommodate guests with allergies and sensitivities, we do not provide shampoo or body wash. Please bring your preferred products.
