Casa Anzuelo is a place to escape from the world, so if your goal is a peaceful place to read, think and enjoy the ocean & the warmth of the weather, then this is the place for you. Jim, the owner, was great to speak with regarding everything in the area as well as the background and history of Panama, and was willing to assist or help in anything that you needed. A great host!"

"Great views and a relaxing time was had at this comfortable sea side duplex. We were the only renters so we had the whole yard and pool to ourselves. Bob was an excellent resident owner host and the support staff of Maria and Ilariao were perfect and there when we needed help. "We absolutely loved our stay in Gamboa! There were so many outdoor activities in the area and it was close to Panama City. The house was large with plenty of space for us to spread out or be together. The lower patio was a wonderful place to spend an afternoon in the hammock reading or watching the rain fall. Jorge and Omar were very responsive and provided us with whatever we asked for. Thank you Jorge!"

"The furnishings are worn. The second bedroom is only suitable for small children. The house is only a few metres from a busy main road with noisy traffic. The beach is unattractive. The water is too shallow for swimming. And the house is NOT in the “historic centre” of Portobelo, which is several kilometres away and consists of the ruins of a fort and a church. We were so disappointed we left after one night."

"Spent 2 nights here recently.My daughter and I were the only guests. The hotel is isolated but interesting although close to a major and noisy road.Staff we met were kind but very low key which was no problem.Room was spartan but clean.As Colon is a pretty rough city this hotel is a good alternative to the city centre hotels where your mobility is limited due to the risk of violence."
