The property was as listed and a fantastic retreat for two families. We had plenty of room, beautiful views, and everything we needed for a great stay.
North Captiva is wonderful place to unwind. This home is a perfect location for those who are bringing their own boat! We've stayed on NCap many times and this property manager went above and beyond. Very helpful and responsive. I will definitely rent from Yvena again.
Thanks goes to Yvena and Husband for a exellent vacation . We ranged in age from 12 to 80 plus...They responded to communication promptly, and went above and beyond anything asked of them...Kudos to both of you!The house was in a perfect location, beautiful sunrises and probably sunsets, but we went to the beach for group pics everyday...We highly recommend renting from them ...We would give you 6 stars if we could...Thanks very much!

Once Great Property, Is Now Sadly Shabby
A group of 7 of us have stayed at this property for past three years, primarily due to location and size of property. Unfortunately, over the last three years we’ve seen the decline of the property. The island is in various states of disrepair as a result of Hurricane Ian, the island is still well worth a visit.
Everything about the property is shabby: shower heads that are inconsistent, calcium build up on faucets, refrigerator actually freezes items, small ants in the kitchen, outdoor and indoor furniture is broken, outdoor furniture had not been cleaned in quite sometime, golf carts are a potential safety hazard, kitchen utensils are in need of replacement, flat pillows.
Originally the property offered 3 boat slips and the description reflected as such. One slip has since been sold, it shares the dock. We discovered the reduction in boat slips upon arrival, as there was a trash boat in the slip, thus, for two days the trash boat was part of our view. Additionally, the third slip gets rented out, therefore, this creates an issue when gear and boats are out, and random people are two feet from all of you stuff.
We are local, we understand Hurricane damage, but this home received zero damage; it’s current state is simply lack of upkeep and care. The management company did offer to rent us an additional boat slip and has since changed the description of the property, but beware, for the cost per night you would be better off to find a different option locally.
Have stayed at this house 3-4 times. As always an enjoyable stay. Yvena was extremely quick to respond to message and was very helpful !! Thank you so much !!
The house was clean and the host was prompt with answers to any questions we had. This was our second stay at this house and I am sure we will go back!

House and location is great, but needs some work
We stayed at this property and our family very much enjoyed the island and the ease of access with the boat slip. That said, the property is in need of some renovation and updating, the grounds were a mess, and the home itself was not very clean upon arrival. In addition, the other half of the boat slip is being used seemingly for transport by maintenance crews for the island which means people are walking around the ground level and transporting trash and materials through the slip. The island has a lot to offer but we didn't spend much time at the house because it is in such disrepair. Was likely an amazing house many years ago.
We stayed for a week with our family of four and elderly grandparents (7 total). The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the private dock was a major highlight—perfect for fishing and boating, which are easily accessible all over the island. The house itself was spacious and well-furnished, offering plenty of room for everyone. However, there are two important things to be aware of that we didn’t see mentioned before booking: first, there are quite a few steps, which can be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. Second, the bugs—mosquitoes and no-see-ums—were intense, and we ended up with a lot of bites despite using repellent. While the pool was a nice feature, the decking around it felt a bit unsafe and could use some attention. That said, if you approach this rental like a remote cabin getaway—beautiful, rustic, and off the beaten path—you’ll have a great time. The golf carts were also a big plus and made getting around the island easy and fun.
Poor lighting in the house. Many of the lights did not work (probably new bulbs needed) The spa was inoperable (no jets and no air blower) The drink cooler on the main floor did not work, it was frozen over. I spent an hour with a hair dryer to defrost it and it worked well after defrosting. Staying on North Captiva was a great experience. We brought two flats boats over and the dockage was excellent. We spent many hours every day on the water and the fishing was incredible. Electric outlets on the dock to charge trolling motor batteries. Fish cleaning station also on the dock. Wifi sucked. 30mps just wasn't sufficient to keep anyone happy. Overall, I would definitely stay there again. Our host was very responsive.
