We loved La Estancia - it was quieter than the two connected properties on either side of it, which worked well for our kids and their grandparents who were with us. The pool was not too crowded. It wasn’t hard to find a chair by the pool or at the beach. Everyone was so kind, friendly, and helpful. There were comments about people selling on the beach - it was nice to have the roped off area of chairs for the resort, but not even totally necessary. We didn’t feel bothered and had some really nice conversations with the people who were selling things on the beach. The sand was gorgeous, waves were strong and intimidated my cautious kids a bit, but they could swim in the water with help getting past where the waves crashed. We loved that we could get take out from most restaurants or room service. Our balcony was one of our favorite spots! We grabbed coffee from the coffee and sandwich place outside of one of the other hotels each day. And enjoyed the eating options at all the 3 hotels (you can access any of the restaurants, but you are not supposed to use the pools at the other hotels in the complex). The first night we had a hard time finding an option with longer waits, but then found some tips.We Ubered to town & to San Jose and Flora farms; the host recommended a company with a large comfortable suv to get our group of 6 bags to & from the airport.
