the room itself and common areas were clean and well appointed. the staff were short with us. it was impossible to get an uber. this hotel is not near any tourist attractions. it made getting around hard. luckily we had a car. to get to the harbor from here was 25 minutes by car.

Friendly staff, clean and quiet room, and a perfect location. The hotel is a little outdated, which I expected, but all the other good things made up for it. Bottom line — I’d stay here again if I come back.

The church was built in the years 1198-1209, near the then Deventer harbor quarter. It was founded in the heyday of the Hanseatic city. The church, a Romanesque basilica, was dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of the captains.
