The vibe of this place is incredible. Every individual on staff was friendly and engaging, and mostly multilingual. I arrived early & they locked my bags away.
It is the kind of lobby you could just hang out in. Nice coffee bar w/fresh pastries in the lobby. There's also a full bar. The music was upbeat and cool (soul, reggae, lofi rock & jazz). I would later learn that that is exactly what people do. The furniture was inviting and the lighting was great too. Every time I walked in the front door, I relaxed. Cantina Valentina had generous portions and delicious flavors. The restaurant staff was as welcoming and helpful as the front desk and the lobby bar.
The room was perfect for a solo traveler/couple with a fluffy queen-sized bed and an enormous shower with excellent temp and pressure. Everything (electricity, gadgets, lighting, water, etc.) worked great. The style was laid back with even a tribute to the old building in the room by exposing some concrete beams. Wifi was strong throughout the building.
I don't have any complaints. I will look for a Hoxton in every city I visit, hoping they all share the vibrancy and down-to-earth energy of the one in Brussels.
The location is good. There's a part on the backside of the train station that is a little sketchy (sex shops, grimy) but its a short block. The hotel is adjacent to two wonderful parks. It is a relatively flat, 20-min walk to Grand Place
