It was an amazing experience, it needs a lick of brightening colours and normal and anti fungal paint.
Needs new floor tiling and carpeting.
Replace all of the Electrical equipment and to make the dinning and front room bigger.
Replace all the curtains and put some bright paint in the place.
The staff and owner are the most amazingly nice people and great to meet on a personal level.
Location is great. Just a stone's throw from the waterfront and many cafes and eateries. Problem with the hostel is they are attempting to renovate the place whilst still accomodating people. What I mean by that is there is still work going on in the room while people are in it. After a long day of packing and travelling I was having a sleep on the bed when I was interrupted by a maintenance person wanting access. Other people have told me they were still painting rooms with people in them. The man at reception is exceedingly miserable and reluctant to answer questions and even then minimal information given. Even when I rang the day before to check my booking He was confused as the phone is used for the hostel and the business of the bar next door.
All facilities are very tired looking or broken and absolute minimum. Ripped sheets on the bed and very old pillows. No possibilities for even renting a towel.
If you are wanting somewhere cheap and rough then it fits the bill otherwise steer clear.
Nothing there was nothing to now down good Annie the place

No A/c. In rooms.
Wifi doesnt work in rooms.
Kitchen /lounge needs a good clean.
Over all convenient location at a good price. Meals at the Manly Deck are very good value.
Decent location. Awful place to stay. We were overcharged what our booking on Expedia said we would have to pay. The rooms were very dirty, the sheets hadn't been changed. No towels, not even the option to hire towels like many other backpackers offer. Very disorganised place, would not recommend.
The hostel was really cute and clean and comfortable. Only complaint is the common room could use a little love and the stove in the kitchen didn't work very well. But everything else was great.
It was the most disgusting hostel I've ever seen. The staff are rude, arrogant, disrespectful, unhelpful and unfriendly. The rooms and bathrooms are filthy, as is the linen. The mattress is a piece of $2 foam, not even a basic mattress. And the noise from the bar/club beneath the hostel was unbearably loud making sleeping impossible - so loud in fact that I made a complaint to the local council as surely this breaches even basic standards. A complete and utter shambles - stay away!
Just needed a bed otherwise would not have stayed.cheap enough so get what you pay for. Not welcoming or comfortable, mattress thin and awful with just a tatty sheet, kitchen a mess with rubbish bins overflowing, though main bathroom was quite clean.Common room very small, looks like this space was sacrificed to fit in more beds and no where outside to sit except under bedroom windows where people made noise until 2am. Couldn't wait to get away.

Close to the hotel
The hotel kitchen was pretty good, use of TV, old VHS player, LCD TV with working fridge and freezer.
Uncomfortable stay. Thankful that we were allowed to cancel the second day staying there without charge.

Unfriendly Stuff
I will no more going in this hostel. two Stuffs were very unfriendly and would have 40 Dollars for Key deposit. When I went, they gave me only back 20 Dollars. I hadn't a receipt. And they lies to me. So I left this hostel after the first night and could never stay longer there.
The breakfast was all very dirty, I couldn't eat there nothing. The bedroom was ok, not dirty, and also the bathrooms was most clean.
Staff are really bad
Hostel far of everything
Room dirty and smell really bad
Bed so bad (I start scratch my skin a lot in the bed)
No lift for go to the airport
Please notice, I used to pay cash. So, don't charge my credit card for this booking.
Thanks !
Cheers

Nice Hostel near Manly Harbour, not close to city
I stayed there two nights during my diving course because my dive boat started early in the morning from Manly Harbour.
I wouldn't want to stay there longer but for the two nights it was a really good and cheap option for me.
Appreciating is a budget accommodation, a few low cost improvements would make a big difference, like more organised booking booking arrangements, working TV in common room and ensuring cleaning materials available to allow guests to meet obligations in keeping common area clean. Overall was OK.
