The property is not the traditional restoration of a historic building, such as the Maverick in San Antonio. However, if you are a "Chip and Jo" fan it is walking distance to the Silo's in Waco, and it is very convenient to the Baylor University Campus. The rooms are spacious. The restaurant facility is actually very good. The bar area is nice and I was pleasantly surprised to see Caymus by the glass (albeit spendy). One thing to note. There is some early indication of poor taping and floating on the drywall which may become an untimely eyesore soon. The ceilings are high, which is nice as is the wall décor, however there is not much in the way of crown molding or other wood work that you would expect in a property at this price point. Parking is at a definite premium when the hotel is near capacity, with overflow going to the back street.....next to the Men's Shelter. I'm not sure that plays well for people doing campus visits. So, there are some hits and misses.
