About this property
Ferienwohnung Sulzberg
"Holzer 2.0"
Vacation rentals with a difference—where tradition meets modernity
"Holzer 2.0" invites you to relax in its newly built extension.
You’ll find concrete and wood combined with plenty of glass in a modern setting. The front main house, built in 1851 after the “Schrofensturz” landslide, is one of the oldest farmhouses in Brannenburg.
Our three vacation rentals offer the highest level of comfort and high-quality amenities, as well as an unobstructed view of the Wendelstein region and its surrounding mountain range. Our garden also offers plenty of activities for our younger guests.
Each vacation apartment has a separate entrance. “Sulzberg” Vacation Apartment (first floor): small terrace, parking space next to the house. “Wildalpjoch” Vacation Apartment (upper floor, covered walkway): balcony, parking space next to the house. “Riesenkopf” Vacation Apartment (upper floor, covered walkway): balcony, parking space next to the house.

“Sulzberg” Vacation Rental, approx. 35 sqm on the first floor Our one-room apartment with an open-concept living and sleeping area (140 cm bed) accommodates 1–2 people. The high-quality kitchen appliances (including an induction cooktop, dishwasher, and Bora range hood), as well as the bathroom amenities (automatic sensor-activated sink and rain shower), leave nothing to be desired. The living area, featuring a bar counter and a sofa bed, along with a small patio, invites you to linger. You’re also welcome to relax in our spacious orchard with views of the surrounding mountains.

Our house is centrally located in the town of Brannenburg, about a 5–10-minute walk from the Wendelsteinbahn valley station, about a 10-minute walk to downtown Brannenburg, and about a 15-minute walk to the Brannenburg train station for city trips to Rosenheim, Munich, Kufstein, Innsbruck, or Salzburg, or to nearby Chiemgau with its famous “Bavarian Sea.” If you’re arriving by train, we’ll be happy to pick you up by car from the Brannenburg train station. Erl (Austria), home to its famous festival, is just a 30-minute drive away. Numerous hikes and mountain bike tours can be started right from here. In winter, the family-friendly Sudelfeld area (about a 20-minute drive) is perfect for alpine skiing, but you’ll also find a variety of ski tours, sledding, and snowshoeing there!
Your five-member host family lives in the front, older part of the farmhouse, known locally as “Holzer.” Until the 1980s, “guest rooms with a family atmosphere” were already being rented out here. Now there’s a new version—the “Holzer 2.0”—and we look forward to your visit!
