Overall the house and area are great destinations to vacation. For future guests please request a record of the repairs and review other guests experiences before you go. For us the size house and pool were huge draws for our family reunion in February. Knowing the ocean would be too cold to swim, we were looking forward to the hot tub and pool. Unfortunately the pool was not heated and the hot tub never got above 71. We called the property management company everyday and a pool different technician came each day. We were told that they have had calls about the pool before, in recent weeks. SO the problem was a known issue. Additionally, e time the pool heater would try to kick on, it would knock the power out in the house. We reset the Wi-Fi for the TV many times. Finally on Thursday I got a text that a new pool heater would be delivered Friday, the day before we left. As of Saturday, the new pool heater was still sitting in the garage of the house.
Also the 2nd dishwasher is very convenient for 19 people, but it leaks, so beware of that. The other issue is the ice maker in the butler/bar area does not work. We bought ice and kept coolers, and filled the ice maker as needed.
The kitchen could use a couple extra pot holders and kitchen towels. We found 1 of each in the kitchen. Have you cooked and cleaned for 20 people using only 1 single towel and pot holder?? The kitchen also needs a 9x13 casserole dish for baking group meals. Our family bought extra towels and pot holders, and disposable casserole tins. It worked out, but these small items are recommended for the home owner to have on hand.
Overall our family had a memorable experience and may plan another destination reunion in the future, but I will definitely be more aware of things to check into.
The property management was great to handle pre-trip amenities and rentals, and listened to our complaints, it’s just unfortunate that we didn’t get to use the pool, and hot tub. For the cost of the week, these problems should never happen, or addressed immediately by the owner. We have not been offered compensation for the lack of a huge draw, an amenity we paid for.
