We had a wonderful stay and had everything we needed. Location was wonderful, everything was spotless, bed was very comfy, bathroom was great, and we didn't know it, but we got a surprise porch off our room facing the harbor. Kai, the owner, was in touch and made our stay even more comfortable offering us a car rental when the rest of town was sold out. I recommend the Inn at Old Harbor highly and will absolutely be staying again,

We loved our room it was perfect and the balcony was great too ! Also the price was an excellent deal and steps from the ferry. There was no coffee which was a disappointment but we got some next door so it was fine! I would definitely stay again! Also I liked that we could stay one night instead of the two night minimum!!

THE INN AT OLD HARBOR IS LOCATED NOT FAR FROM WHERE THE FERRY BRINGS PEOPLE TO BLOCK ISLAND, IT IS A OLD HOTEL WITH NO AMENITIES OR AIR CONDITIONING. THE STAFF ACCOMODATED ALL REQUESTS AND WERE VERY HELPFUL,

This hotel is too old to exist. The facilities need major updating. Moldy bathrooms, zero or broken mosquito nets in windows and balcony door, old rugs, musky smell in room, and no air conditioning. Would not repeat at any price.

Great location at Old Harbor. We loved sitting on the back balcony overlooking the harbor and the front balcony overlooking Spring Street. No frills, but charming, comfy room and very convenient.

My friend and I were in town for a wedding weekend. The Inn was perfect for our stay on Block Island. I would certainly recommend this Inn to others. It was quiet at night and it was exactly what we needed. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room, but when we did it was perfect for our needs.

Hotel is situated over a gift shop so it can be a little confusing to find (check in at the gift shop). No A/C, but that is common on the island. Generally an older building and decor and overpriced - but you are paying to stay on the island!

Our stay at The Inn at Old Harbor was wonderful. My partner doesn’t love walking and They have their own stair case from the ferry parking lot. Within minutes we had picked up our keys at their sweatshirt store and had our feet up on our private balcony which made for great people watching and a cool breeze. Room 3 on the second floor had a king size bed and great light at sunrise. We could see the Newport Bridge! It was clean and comfortable We are coming back for Columbus Day weekend

This is an 1880’s slum! The room had rotted furniture, the stained carpet was covered with a filthy hard rattan mat that hurt my feet and the mattress was like sleeping on a cement floor! In addition, there is no TV in the room. Plus, the porch looks like it will soon fall off the building. I have no idea how they stay in business as a hotel!
Nasty stains on the mat on top of the carpet!
Gross!

A place to lay your head

When I booked my room I was aware it was a no frills older hotel, I did not know to what degree. It was clean, no frills, but it smelled old/musty. We did not spend a lot of time in the room; it was a place to lay your head for the night, but it could have been a little better. A little paint and wallpaper goes a long way. Also, when you see the picture of the hotel, it looks nothing like the picture. It looks older but quaint. It has not been painted in a while. In the picture there is a nice red boarder that makes it look nice, not any more; I did not recognize it when I was looking for it and I was in front of it. You are close to where the boats come in and a place to lay your head, that’s it. There is a store under you selling BI merchandise, so that is convenient. If you are in BI check it out to make sure you are ok with the hotel.

We almost could have tolerated the old, outdated, shabby, moldy, screen less windows but the staff running around and causing a chaotic presumably drunken ruckus starting at 11 pm and lasting couple hours did it for us. Ironically, the house rules we were given specifically stated “quiet hours” from 11 pm to 7 am. Needless to say we really didn’t sleep. It all started a little shaky when the room wasn’t ready on time for 3 pm check in. We foolishly thought that since they asked for our ferry arrival time (10 am and we certainly didn’t think we were checking in that soon) that the room would be ready when they said. We understood that our nightly charge of $466 (taxes included) was a little below market given the weekend but we were really surprised by how awful and dirty the room and bathroom turned out to be. I mean jaw dropping. Not sure how or why there positive reviews of this place. We are Block Island regulars that normally stay at another inn but wanted to try this place given its proximity to the main drag and surprise…..availability. Maybe the second floor is magically beautiful but we’ll never know.
