One of the many abandoned 'huts' on the Great Blasket (An Blascaod Mór). The island was inhabited until 1953 when the Irish government evacuated the island. Many of the population immigrated to Springfield, Massachusetts in the USA.

Andy and Caroline have made their place into a very comfortable spot to stay - the charming beach theme suits the cottage… Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. "Highly recommend Base for a short stay in Dingle. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in, it’s perfectly located, and it’s great value. Everything feels new and modern but not sterile – there is a strong sense of local culture thanks to the lovely selection of Irish art around the place! "

"Spotlessly clean and finished to an extremely high standard - better than many 4* hotels. Room was lovely. The owner was great at providing instructions and information and check in and out was super smooth. Lovely location, close to the little harbour. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. "

"What a great stay outside of Dingle. Great staff and dinner. The Star Wars filming location/affiliation was a nice bonus! Across the street was another great pub with live music and dancing. It was definitely one of our favorite stops throughout our time in the Republic!"
