Blaen Ddol
Welcome to Blaen Ddol, a wonderful traditional stone-fronted cottage dating back to the 1860s, in the charming and ever-popular village of Betws-y-Coed.
Rich in history and charm, this original miner's cottage, which once served the Hafod-Las Slate and Slab quarry, can accommodate up to five guests. Featuring three elegantly furnished bedrooms with solid wood furniture, including two double bedrooms and one single. The cottage offers two contemporary-styled bathrooms: one upstairs with a bath and a shower room downstairs.
The living area boasts light and airy décor, with a large corner sofa, Wi-Fi, and a smart TV perfect for relaxation. Head into the kitchen where you'll find a modern, well-equipped space with ample workspace, a breakfast bar, and all the amenities needed for an easy self-catered stay. Sliding doors open out from the kitchen onto a spacious, long lawned garden, offering a private space with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Betws-y-Coed is known as the gateway to Snowdonia and the neighboring towns and villages. This magical setting has a distinctly Alpine feel, enhanced by the dense Gwydyr Forest surrounding the village. Breathe the fresh air, enjoy walking one of the many trails around the village, bike on a huge range of mountain biking trails, take in the history and culture of one of North Wales's many castles, and take on the challenge of hiking in the mountains to see the splendor of Snowdonia's natural beauty. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Wonderful home away from home
Took us a while to find the property on foot but worth the hike for us. Spotlessly clean & lovely home. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Couldn’t have been lovelier. Owners rightfully take great pride in their home. Betws-Y-Coed has been a highlight of our trip so far.

Great holiday stay
Parking and location was good. Living spaces nice and comfortable.
Summer duvets would be good, they were way too warm. Better, bigger, blackout curtains would be a bonus, 3 windows all leaking light ensured no late lie ins.

Recently refurbished house
Everything is new and clean. The house is about 10 minutes walk from the main village and it is nice to leave the hustle and bustle behind!
It might be advisable to let people know about the steep stairs.

Great location, a 10 to 15 minute walk from the centre of Betws Y Coed
Great location, a 10 to 15 minute walk from the centre of Betws Y Coed. THe house was lovely with plenty of space, the only downside was the cleanliness of the property. Lots of dust, dirt, long grass in the garden and the bathrooms were not clean. As I said if we were to stay again we would choose the property again, we understand Finest Retreats are resolving the cleanliness issues. thanks

Cosy and Comfortable
Great accomodation. Great location. Cosy and comfortable.
Only comment would be that some of the dishes/mugs/cutlery were not completely clean and there were lots of cobwebs in places. However, this wasn’t a big deal and we had a great stay. We would come back in the future.

Absolutely lovely house, very clean and beautiful location.
Only 15 minute walk into Betws-y-coed. The house had all the amenities needed, dvd player with films, games both for adults and children, recommendations on restaurants, where to go etc. Decorated lovely and plenty of space. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to visit again.

Heating should come on earlier in winter. Currently set to 7pm. It meant arriving at a cold house each evening. Would be nice to have a supply of tea bags and maybe a little basket of stuff on arrival as other cottages do. Cork screw is broken.
