Holiday with young family

Had a wonderful time here, with a 1 year old and 3 year old, very thoughtful hosts, who have thought of many small details in their property to make it well equipped and comfortable. Even ordered in a highchair for us to use during our stay. Lots of maps, guidebooks and extra information available for the local area which is so helpful.

A Truly Great Place To Stay

We stayed with Carol and Gordan at the end of Aug for 12 fantastic dys. The farmhouse is ideally situated to numerous places of interest. In fact even after 12 dys we ran out of time for the things we wanted to see and do as there is so much the area has to offer. Our hosts gave us the privacy we wanted yet were always on hand and eager to help us get the most out of our stay. The pool is fantastic and larger than we expected. Certainly big enough for adults to swim in too. This saved us from the heat of the day and provided great entertainment when we were having a rest day from all our excursions !. This is a wonderful base to enable you to see some of the amazing places Spain has to offer. We hope to return next year. Many Thanks Carol for all your help and kindness, especially bringing my 6yr old a lollly when he had hurt himself. Its the little things !. Xx

Lovely Villa, Lovely Owner

We booked our holiday a year in advance and every few months Carol and Gordon would email with updates as to what was going on in the local area, which was so lovely and really built the anticipation for our holiday. The views are beautiful, the pool is lovely, especially for smaller children or people that can’t swim, very relaxing and crystal clear!! The Villa was immaculate and well cared for. I can’t praise Carol enough, I was nervous being my first time driving in Spain, she was so reassuring and offered emotional and practical support. As a single mother traveling with two children I felt quite vulnerable, but Carol was hugely supportive and it felt like home from home. It was my Son’s Birthday whilst we were there and Carol made the most delicious cakes for him!! Just so thoughtful and caring and you really couldn’t be in better hands!! I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it 100% and I would like to thank Carol and Gordon for allowing us to share their little piece of paradise!

Perfect Break

What a fabulous holiday, the accommodation and destination were absolutely fabulous. "Tesorillo", on the edge of the beautiful village of Los Romanes, with views of the surrounding hills and lake Vinuela was everything and more that we hoped it would be. The accommodation was clean, tidy and well kept and had all that you could need for a great stay, Gordon and Carol were very friendly and helpful, though living on site they were in no way intrusive, and managed the perfect blend of being helpful and available but only if required or desired.Ideally located for a perfect combination of Semi Rural peace and tranquility, yet only a 30 minute drive from the beach at Torre del Mar. Great base for exploring or relaxing in this region of Andulicia, absolutely no hesitation in recommending a stay here, we would certainly look forward to doing so again.

Welcoming. Very clean. In the middle of romantic landscape in Spain

My family will never forget this house and the kind kind Gordon and Carol. I want to visit here one more time and stay longer. All of advices we were given was very useful. I cooked a lot. It was the best kitchen we experienced in Europe. We loved the village too. There is a very good organic bakery: you have to make an order a day earlier.

Perfect hosts, excellent accommodation

We chose this apartment because we have a large dog, and the property was spacious, scrupulously clean and well located. The hosts, Gordon and Carol are very friendly and helpful; everything that could be needed is there. The apartment contains a porch, entrance hall / Kitchen, fully equipped; two large double bedrooms each with their own en-suite shower room w.c. Mosquito netting on the windows mean that you can sleep at night with the windows open and not be bitten! There is a large lounge /dining area with large screen satellite TV and a cd/tape machine for those who want to escape TV, a good assortment of novels are available also. The property is in an excellent state of repair, with good quality fittings and well crafted woodwork. The garden has a nice above ground pool and is attractively lit at night. On the opposite side of the road are olive groves so that your dog can explore and experience new smells! There is also on-site off road gated parking. The apartment is out 5 minutes walk to the nearest bar/cafe and there are others in the village together with a local shop. Velez-Malaga is a short drive away and has international supermarkets there, Lidl, Carrefour etc. A little further on is the Eroski shopping precinct/mall with over 100 shop, and on the outskirts of Torre del Mar which has excellent beaches and restaurants, it also has a "Dog Beach" which is great because dogs are banned on almost all Spanish beaches, this is located beside "Camping 2". There is an excellent English speaking Vet in Torre del Mar for animals which need certified worming treatment before return to UK. They have an English website, and so cheap compared to UK ! Torre del Mar is approx 30 minutes scenic drive past the Vinuela Reservoir where you can practise water sports.

Immaculate peaceful holiday spot

We had a lovely 5 days in Los Romanes, very peaceful and rural. Beautiful lemon tree on the patio, we loved picking lemons for our tea! The kids loved the pool and it is a great spot for watching the sun go down behind the mountains. The villa is immaculate and well equipped, very comfortable beds. Carol and Gordon were kind and generous hosts, couldn't do enough for us, including inflating the plastic crocodile for the pool! Only 20 mins to the coast, the kids loved the water park at Torre del Mar. Lovely lunch on the beach at Torre del Mar. Great spot!

Great place, helpful hosts, lovely location.

We really enjoyed our stay in Los Romanes. The accommodation was lovely, the sun bathing terrace was great and the plunge pool was good for cooling down. Carol and Gordon were very helpful. We also enjoyed the fantastic views from the house and garden, as well as the surrounding area.

The apartment, location and owners all superb along with daily sunshine!

Our holiday was great. It started well with being picked up at the airport , after a long flight from cold and wet Glasgow, by our smiling hosts who then transported us in their comfortable car to our delightful holiday home. Our accommodation was even better than described on the website. Everything we would require for our self catering stay from comfortable beds, shower rooms, towels, sofa, kitchen equipment etc.were all to a very high standard. The village store and organic bakery were only a few minutes walk away along with the usual local Spanish bars. Nearby, a few minutes drive away, were 2 restaurants with fantastic mountain and lake views. We knew the area so revisited all our favourite places but due to the heat didn't do any distance walking. I caught up on my reading outside our apartment on our shady patio only disturbed by a lemon dropping from the tree above me. We love the area, it's so beautiful and it was so easy to get to the coast or up and through the mountain pass. We were sorry to leave and have to fly home to chilly, wet Glasgow.

Fabulous Christmas Getaway

In our opinion the accommodation is located in a perfect tranquil spot with magnificient mountain views from the patio and raised garden. It's situated on the edge of the village allowing for an easy stroll to the local bars and restaurants. It's clean and comfortable with absolutely everything you need. Carol and Gordon are perfect hosts. They go the extra mile to make your stay special, and communication prior to our visit was 100%. Can't think of a better place to spend a relaxing Christmas break and escape the frantic Great British Christmas rush.
