Everything about this hotel was excellent. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Italy. Our hosts were wonderful. Breakfast on the patio with a view of the lake was magical. We highly recommend this hotel and we wished that we were staying longer!

This was a beautiful property to stay in that overlooks Lake Maggiore. Simone and her husband are so kind and accommodating. They have an on site restaurant and we had an amazing dinner! Our room was upgraded to a larger room and it had a magnificent view and was very spacious. This was one of our best stays on our trip to Italy. Highly recommend!

Wanted to stay longer!

Due to flight delays and cancellations, we were delayed until a 1:30 AM arrival. Simone took AMAZING care of us and accommodated two very tired travelers. The room was amazing, the restaurant was as well. We'll be back.

The property is very pleasant, and has an interesting history. The owners/managers were lovely and did everything possible to make my visit pleasurable. The grounds are beautiful with nice gardens. Wow! Outstanding! Simona and Alberto were amazing. This property is simply beautiful in every way. Flowers, trees, shrubbery and an amazing view of the lake right out our window and from our open air balcony. We also had a charming outdoor space for dining and/or having a drink overlooking the lake amongst the beautiful landscape. Our suite was spacious and up to date. Amenities were perfect. We rented a car and had no troubles parking at this hotel. Streets are narrow everywhere in this region, so pick a small car! Don’t rely on Apple Maps for specific directions, follow those given to you by Alberto and Simona via email. It was helpful. This location was very close to Stresa, maybe 5 minutes . We spent quite of bit of time in Stresa.

What can we say? Bellissimo, meraviglioso, favoloso! Simply 10/10! From start to finish, Simone and Alberto were so welcoming and charming—the perfect hosts. Our room was lovely, and the food was just fabulous. As a coeliac, travelling can be tricky, but the team really looked after me, bringing me a separate platter of bread and toast (which was prepared separately). The choice of wine was delightful! I hope we will return as Relais Casali Della Cisterna is a very special place, and we’re so glad we were able to experience it. xx Shout out to the very sweet puppy host as well ♥️🐾

A Magical and Heartwarming Stay at Relais Casali della Cisterna We originally planned to stay for just one night, and ended up staying for two, simply because we couldn’t leave! Relais Casali della Cisterna is a truly special place, elegant, peaceful, and full of warmth. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine kindness. The hosts, Simona and Alberto, went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, offering great local tips, and always making us feel at home. Our room was beautifully designed, spacious, and spotless, with breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore. Waking up to the view of the lake from our balcony was unforgettable. The gardens surrounding the villa are lush and peaceful, perfect for relaxing walks or a quiet coffee in the morning sun. Breakfast was excellent, fresh pastries, fruit, local cheeses, and eggs made to order. It’s one of those places where every detail feels cared for. The location is also great, just a few minutes’ drive from Stresa and Belgirate, close enough to explore but quiet enough to feel completely away from it all. We’ve stayed in many places across Europe, but this one really stands out for its charm, authenticity, and the warmth of its hosts. We left with a full heart and wonderful memories. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

Simona and Alberto made our stay so tremendously special. The hospitality was impeccable. In all of my trips to Europe, this stay was the best. From the views to the “bed and breakfast” feel opposed to the hustle and bustle that you get from hotels, it was serene, peaceful and very cozy. We had access to the hot tub and pool overlooking the beautiful lake. A gym is made available as well. Breakfast/dinner very delicious. Simona was always available to assist us with regards to transportation. We will most certainly return. If anyone is considering stresa, skip it and come to Belgirate for a more enjoyable experience.
