Beautiful Beaver Island getaway
This property sits on 3 1/2 acres of wooded privacy. You are less than 2 miles from town. You are less than a mile away from Donnegal Bay. This property has been in our family for over 20 years. Our parents lived here full-time, and loved beaver Island. We have a fishing boat which is a flat bottom aluminum boat. You are about three blocks away from front lake. The master bedroom is located on the first floor. The upstairs includes a loft end second bedroom. The loft has a couch with a pull out sofa. There are also two queen size air mattresses. In the second bedroom, there are bunkbeds and a twin bed. The house is fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, etc. There is a gas stove, microwave, coffee, maker, washer, and dryer. The house is very clean and comfortable. You will enjoy your stay!!

A classic Beaver Island home. Everything we expected. It was just perfect for us, we brought our vehicle over with us so being a little bit out of town was actually great! We also brought our kids bikes over in the back of our truck so our kids had a great time exploring the island on bikes. A short bike ride to town (harbor) or a short bike ride to the Beach at Donegal Bay.
Our family with 4 young children had a wonderful time. The house fit our family well, and was well appointed. For a house in the woods, it was remarkably clean inside with very comfortable beds. It had a well equipped kitchen with any pan or dish you might need.
Our visit to Beaver Island was filled with long days at the beach, walks in the woods, trips to the Toy Museum, and daily ice cream cones. Perfect!
The cottage was in the woods close to Donegal Bay and close to town. Very nice cottage, It had all the necessities you needed to have a great stay. Daniel was very helpful and always responded if you needed him. I was there for the Baroque music festival. I had a great time and will return to Beaver Island.

The GPS takes you to a vacant/wooded area down the road, but aside from that, the owner was quick to respond to messages and checked on us periodically to make sure we were taken care of. I only had to ask one question prior to our stay and he was quick to respond and very friendly throughout. I would highly recommend this property to anyone that is wanting to stay in a quaint spot, just a few minutes away from “downtown” Beaver Island. My husband and I chose this area for our honeymoon and we couldn’t be happier. We will definitely be back in the future.
Arrived and the place was not cleaned from the previous visitors. I ended up washing the dirty dishes in the sink,3 loads of wash (towels and bedsheets), cleaned the shower, and took out the trash. Had to go to town to get trash bags because I couldn’t find the bag until later, napkins, air freshener, toilet paper, & yard spray. Owner offer to reimburse me for the supplies only and when the cleaner did show up the next day, she said she got noticed that the reservation was canceled.
The place had a stale smoke or musty odor to it. It needs some major airing out. Two window air conditioners do work. Also, plenty of pots and pans. Make sure you remove those in the oven before turning it on.
The place itself is quant and the house is well built. Decor is rustic but fits Beaver Island beautifully. Positive that it has a washer and dryer and the owner allows pets. The two twin beds upstairs look new and, according to my friend, very comfortable. Close to town and Donegal Bay that one can walk or bike.
I left the place cleaner than I received it. All the towels washed and folded on the washer. Never used the sheets since we brought our own.
Would I stay there again? Only if the smell is removed and one can open the windows.
This was a beautiful Beaver Island cabin. The place was clean and check in was very easy . Location is close to Donegal Bay and a quick drive to the harbor. We definitely will be staying here again.
Great location, not too far from town, but still quiet and secluded. Owners were very easy to communicate with and made the process very easy. Excellent value for the rate as well.
Peaceful place on a fun island. Lots of natural beauty and relaxed island vibes.

Beautiful home with interesting architecture, barely visible from the road hidden away, close to town and very cozy. Host was very communicable and was able to open the place for us early in the season.
Remote location, very private, but only a few minutes into town. House had a couple of quirks, but that's part of the Beaver charm. We found the home to be prepared for us, the check in was seamless, and the house was as advertised.

Rustic Beaver Island Cottage
The rural setting was nice and peaceful, but we had a concern with some wildlife in the attic scurrying around at night.
The cabin was a cozy step back into the 1980s. It's just a couple miles from town and great beaches. Bring your essential bathroom soaps and personal items. Otherwise, the cabin is equiped with bedding and towels.
Location and price were excellent. Water has a very high level of iron and when we washed the white clothes it left a stain. The house had ample storage but most was filled with owner's stuff. Overall, at the price point it is very acceptable.
The house had all kitchen necessities needed. Accommodations were as described. Large bedroom downstairs, two twin beds in smaller upstairs bedroom, and sofa pull-out upstairs living room. There is a door separating the two areas, but the door has windows in it. I would suggest hanging a curtain or blanket over it. Enjoyed the fire pit outside. There are also beautiful antique outside lights that are beautiful at night when illuminated. The island was wonderful to explore and to relax on the beach. Pristine water. If you like to "Boodle", this is the place for you.
We had a lovely stay. No spiders (though the house is in the woods so that wouldn’t be super surprising). The house was clean though you can tell a smoker lived there (very old cigarette smell); probably won’t go away without painting and getting rid of a lot of the knickknacks. Kitchen had what we needed though we have been spoiled by a couple of other houses lately that had way more. Owner was very responsive to questions and we had a great stay overall.

Musty and windows don't open
The cabin is very quiet and in a woodsy location. Problem is windows don't open so especially the upstairs was so musty it was almost unusable. A missing window upstairs had plastic sheeting and duct tape. Had to run window air conditioners which helped some. Also there were mice in the house. We caught 4 in the live trap while we were there. When a mice is caught it rustles around in the trap which caused a sleepless night until we found the trap located under a bookcase. Plenty of hot water and the washer dryer is a plus.

Whatever
Dark, dank, windows would not open. Religious paraphernalia, strange layout no reading lamps.
House was very dirty and smelled stale. House seemed as it was shut up for a year or two. Personal items were all over the place. The boat that was available was not what was described. Bedding was dirty and stained. One Bed was a full size frame with a king mattress, and the other bed was curved. We spent the first few hours of our vacation cleaning the rental. Mouse poop everywhere. Luckily we found a different rental on the last night. No internet, ni working tvs plugs are all over loaded.

Uneasy
It is a cabin place in the woods. Very dusty. We encountered two large dark fishing spiders inside. the site said there was a boat, but we were told it would be easier to rent one because it was not on site. We enjoy campfires, but there is no pit to have one. One night,in the middle of the night, there was a load noise coming from the well pump or somewhere. Unsettling. It quit, and we did not hear that again. I think the place has potential if many items were cleared and cleaned out. For example:Under the bed were shoes, boxes and suitcases.I have never stayed at a place where the owners stuff was still there. They must like to hunt. There are skulls and bones hanging and scattered around the property. The island was pretty. We enjoyed the beaches and nature, but one trip to Beaver Island was enough for us!
