The bathroom is fully upgraded and excellent with star quality bidet, mirror, solution dispensers etc. What we didn't like is the Scrambled eggs it feels like cooked either day before or even before. It smelled bad and wasn't good so we'd to thrash. Otherwise breakfast is decent.

Very nice, clean and quiet. Remodeled Old-style motel, drive-up car spot at door. Very nice helpful check-in person. Comfortable bed. We would stay there again when in the area.

I was in Unit 6. There is no noise insulation in the ceiling. The person above stomped around the entire night in what sounded like ski boots,occasionally dropping something heavy on the floor. It was miserable. I could also hear voices from above.

Great place to stay to visit Aspen and surrounding areas! There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The staff is friendly and free breakfast is nice. The only downside is the walls are pretty think so you can hear noises coming from your neighbors. Overall I‘d still recommend!

Great stay, and really lovely people! THANK YOU! My only suggestions would be: Some regular plates and silverware, soap and a sponge in kitchen room and a regular coffee maker (not just the kind with pods) would be nice, otherwise the kitchenette aspect not as useful. Also 4 chairs for the table would be great (for the 2 room).

Bed uncomfortable, shower poor, toilet with nice warm surface. Could hear people above walking in middle of night. Not worth price but it is near Aspen Fair breakfast.

I'm so pleased you liked our new water saving toilet with the heated seat. It's a real hit with our guests. Our full hot breakfast is also very popular. I'm shocked that you felt your stay was not worth the price. At the 209/night you paid, we are less than the price of a day ski pass and only 18 miles to Aspen. Thank you for your review.

Great location for price, but comfort lacking
We chose this basic property as a more affordable option for skiing Aspen Snowmass, and its location in the heart of historic old Basalt is excellent—restaurants, shops and the river are just steps away. The staff were friendly, the rooms were impeccably clean, and they have made some updates—the shower was new and spacious, the mirror over the bathroom sink offered changeable lighting tones, and the toilet even had a heated seat! We also appreciated the large eco-conscious dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner. However, there were several aspects that made our overall stay uncomfortable. The walls and ceilings are thin. We were on the first floor, and every morning, when people got up very early and walked around in the unit above us, the creaking was so loud it woke us up. Our room was also hot and stuffy. We tried turning the temperature down on the wall-mounted unit, but it did nothing, and it didn't seem that we could control the baseboard heating. Then there was the lighting—very bright, harsh fluorescent fixtures including a bedside 'reading' sconce that was as glaring as the overhead light. The bed was hard, and the living room sofa was also--and it had a straight back and no arm rests -- not comfortable for sitting. Bath towels were very thin. Wi-Fi was erratic, and I had work to do. Finally, snow removal from the parking lot, which is sloped, was not adequate. It was uneven, icy and dangerous.

Thank you so much for your detailed review of our property. We are proud of our affordability, location, friendly staff, impeccably clean rooms, heated toilet seats and eco-conscious dispensers. It is unfortunate that you did not mention your concern with the heat during your stay. Our new LED lighting is a bit bright. The beds, mattresses, and sofas are brand new. Please accept our less than perfect snow removal. A small piece on the plow broke and we were doing our best during such a big storm.

A gem in the Aspen area
We always enjoy our stay at the Basalt Mtn Inn. It's convenient, cozy, affordable, and comfortable. Staff was friendly during check-in and recommended a couple of options for dining.

Convenient location for skiing in Aspen if you don’t want to break the bank. Only 18 min to buttermilk where we can park for free and take free shuttles to all other 3 mountains! The motel is nice and clean. Free hot breakfast is a bonus. Gas station and 7 eleven around the corner on the way to the highway!

Nice small hotel with unique rooms not far from Aspen. Best value around. Coffe pot dirty. Frig bar broken. Bathroom edges not clean. Yellow spots on king duvet. Breakfast just ok.

This is a quiet, nice and affordable place close to Aspen. It's convenient to shops and restaurants in Basalt too. The staff is very nice and I appreciated their reminder call the day before we arrived. Most hotels don't do that so it was a nice touch.

Beautiful property with a top floor room! Great size, decent amenities. Bed and pillows could use some updating, as they were rather uncomfortable. Check out was much different than I've ever experienced. Great stay overall.

Second time around, and even better than the first
I love this place so much! This is our second time staying here, but this time we brought grandparents. The staff is incredible, and the location is unbeatable. We rode our bikes right from the hotel to a pumpkin patch 5 miles away, all on trails. We also walked along the river every night and walked to amazing restaurants. Cannot wait to come back!
