A River Runs Through it is a charming A-Frame set in a totally private, wooded setting surrounded by towering trees, slabs of moss-covered granite, and the crystal- clear Index Creek running directly below. The cozy and warm interior boasts the classic “cabin in the woods” details, with river rock fireplace, cedar walls, unique stone sink, and stone surrounded clawfoot tub. The loft bedroom feels tucked away from the world with the sound of the river lulling you to sleep. French doors open to a huge deck with a sparkling clean hot tub overlooking the river where you can listen to the sounds of nature while relaxing at this truly special retreat.
A River Runs Through It has been a popular vacation destination for over 15 years, now fully managed by Tree Line Rentals- the only LOCAL full-service management in the area!

The perfect couples getaway. The cabin is nicely secluded and feels very private. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals, and the assortment of teas and coffee was a great amenity. The bathtub was DIVINE, and the heated floors were a huge perk. The sounds of the river were so relaxing, especially while soaking in the hot tub! We cannot wait to come back!

Wonderful Romantic Getaway!

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend and loved it! Easy to get to but feels secluded. Beautiful views and sounds of the river. Nice touches like a heated bathroom floor and heated toilet seat : ) Definitely recommend!

Perfect Girls Trip

The cutest and most perfect stay, short drive to Stevens Pass, and the most relaxing getaway. The hot tub with the river sounds was a great way to unwind after a long ski day. Would book again.

Cozy anniversary getaway

This was our second time back to this property and it's still perfect for a cozy and quiet getaway! It was great for unplugged time together and enjoying the nature of the PNW. Another plus was that there wasn't a single issue booking or communicating with the property manager, and everything we needed was already on site.

Cozy cabin

We've stayed here three times and each time has been excellent. Highlights are the view of the stream, the hot tub and the reading couch in the loft. Its become part of our family lore as our kid has grown up in the past few years of coming. Great memories!ccoming here

Relaxing getaway

Loved this cabin. Very cozy and the creek behind the property is incredible. Made for quite a relaxing stay. Sitting in the hot tub after a day of hiking was the best end to the day. Would stay again!

This cabin was the perfect secluded and relaxing spot we were looking for! The river behind the house was amazing, and enjoying the hot tub while listening to the sound of the river in the beautiful woods was an experience I won’t forget. Extremely cozy cabin and exactly what we were looking for!

Amazing and cozy

We were overwhelmed by the beautiful nature surrounding the home. Pictures just don’t do it justice. The set up of the home is straight out of a movie, we would change nothing! While we stayed there was no rain and it was mid 60 low 40 F and the heating/cooling worked great. We will be staying again very soon and are so thankful for the owners to have this spot available!

Picture perfect cabin on the river

The cabin is amazing, cute, cozy, well furbished, the jacuzzzi a great plus in the evening. We loved the river and the fire pit. Will definitely come back!! We just loved it!!

Short Honeymoon in the Woods

It was great to stay here for the weekend after getting married. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the cabin is both rustic in appearance and modern in amenities. The view from inside the cabin, the wonderful hot tub, and the surrounding area really just make it a perfect place to relax. I would really recommend staying here to anyone, but especially couples looking to get away!

Sanctuary

I wanted a few days of solitude to reset, connect with nature, and relax and am SO glad I landed on this cabin for my retreat. Everything was as advertised and better. The view of the river from bed makes it hard to want to get up, but the thought of the even CLOSER view from the hot-tub below was motivating enough. Beautiful cozy home. I hope to be back!

Great getaway for a quiet weekend out of the city!

Our anniversary weekend, and the cabin was just what we needed to relax and just enjoy each other's company . Wish it hadn't rained so much so we could have enjoyed the hot tub more, but that's the NW in late September!

Phenomenal and Private

This cabin is beautiful and clean with incredible views of the river inside and out and in the hot tub. The hot tub looks brand new and was the cleanest one I’ve ever seen and super hot: 102. We made an egg scramble in the well equipped kitchen. We got pizza from Rico’s and it was delicious. We read books, napped, and enjoyed the claw foot tub. A much needed respite away from everyday stressors. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back.

Two Day Getaway

We enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect, nice and secluded. Loved sleeping to the sounds of the creek. Hot tub was amazing. Was fun to explore down by the creek and walk around the huge boulders. Fireplace added to the fun cabin vibe. Would stay again. Thank you!

Tree Line Tranquility

Loved the property, it was beautiful on the river. The sound of the water was very tranquil. Overall it was a good stay. We got to experience a real rustic day when there was a power outage in the area. But the cabin was equipped with everything we needed. It was an adventure. I would go there again.

Amazing - We'll be Back!

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for! So cute, comfortable, clean, and quiet. The view of the river is beautiful, and falling asleep in the upstairs loft to the sound of the rushing water was incredibly relaxing. The hot tub was clean and well-maintained. The kitchen had everything you could need. The bathroom was comfortable, with a heated toilet seat, soft towels, and a heated floor. Absolutely no complaints!

Literal Slice of Heaven

The main draw for us to this property was the location - right on the river, secluded, in the middle of nature. The house itself is incredibly charming with some modern touches (the heated bathroom floor!). Rustic enough to feel like we were camping but modern enough for comfort. The hot tub, and all other appliances, are very well maintained. The property managers were very responsive and answered all our questions. I can't wait to stay here again!

Magical!

Our family of three (5yo son) stayed here Mother’s Day weekend which was also the birthday weekend of our son! This place was absolutely magical! The location was perfect for us as it was a quick drive over Stevens Pass to Leavenworth where we spent most of Saturday. We enjoyed delicious meals outside on the back deck with the rushing sounds of the river each night. We relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed evenings by the outdoor fire. The cabin was well equipped with kitchen appliances, cookware, and utensils. There were ample towels as well. The views from the second floor loft were phenomenal. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Cutesy cabin, far away from civilization

The scenery during the day is serene. I highly recommend arriving when the sun is still out, otherwise it’s a bit spooky. There are a few flashlights plugged into the outlets inside. The river can be heard at all times, like a peaceful white noise. It was raining for our whole trip, so we only went outside for the hot tub, which was AMAZING after a long day of skiing. It’s 7 miles to the closest gas station, and even more to the market, so do some grocery shopping on the way in.My only complaints are the complete lack of water pressure, but that might have had something to do with our trip being in the winter time. I also got a flat on the gravel road leading up to the cabin, so bring a tire repair kit to be safe :)

Anniversary getaway

Every year twice a year we take a trip out this way. We love it out here!! So beautiful This was a nice spot with a good river view (not really from inside the hot tub) and not ideal for fishing if you wanna wake up and walk out to the water and fish. Another downside is you can't shower only baths (which my husband doesn't wanna bathe after the hot tub each time. Me either) and by the time the bath his half full the water is cold. The beds are smallish and the check out clean up process was a little excessive. We always leave it how we arrived so it was easy just the list of the expectations was more than others especially when you pay a cleaning fee at booking. Overall I'd say 3 stars it was a nice getaway with decent views but for the price we've found bigger and better cabins very close by. Also I would recommend updating the photos because the cabin in the photos do not look like the cabin we stayed at. It's been renovated since those photos and gives a different vibe completely. It's more modern and we were excited for the more rustic look. I feel the picture kind of fakes you out which is disappointing. Also no washer and dryer. We always find that as a plus when staying for days.
