The hotel was full of very polite & friendly staff. I felt, as a white woman staying there with a black partner, that some of the female staff around the restaurant could have been more interactive & so for this reason l givecthe hotel, in general, 9 out of 10. Thankyou for looking after us!

Lovely hotel with great views of the lake. Restaurant was very good and not overpriced. Very clean rooms with great showers. Staff are very very nice.

The resort is awesome. All the staff member are professionals. Every where in the resort is clean and neat! I highly recommend Haile Resort! Love HAILE RESORT! All the staff (employees) are well- educated ! They know how to treat their customer! Oh I forget to mention about the food….it’s very delicious and healthy! House keeping is number one once you left your room for breakfast the house keepers was their to clean the room! Everything you need in the room was their! All in all if you have events big or small Haile resort is their for you! It might be your birthday, anniversary, honeymoon…..the reason why I said that , I was their for my honeymoon with my beautiful wife , we have really enjoyed our honeymoon! I can’t tell you how the surprised as! They decorated our room every single day we stay there! Make a cake for our honeymoon! NOTE: Don’t get surprised all this thing is covered by Haile resort I paid only for the room! Cake, decoration of the room is freeeeeee freeeeeee!!!! So the money you gonna expend at the resort is very very cheap when you compare with the other’s!! For the safety matter Haile resort is #1 Haile resort left unforgettable memory in our honeymoon! HAILE RESORT IS NUMBER ONE IN MY BOOK! Traum am See
Das Personal war von ausgesuchter Freundlichkeit und Höflichkeit. Das begann schon vor der Tür bei der Security und setzte sich bis zum gratis Shuttle zum Flughafen fort. Das Hotel ist picobello sauber, die Toiletten werden permanent geputzt. Die Lage am See ist traumhaft, siehe Foto. Einziger Minuspunkt war, dass man im Restaurant, offenbar auch wie in vielen anderen Restaurants in Äthiopien, mit Glutamat kocht. Wer damit kein Problem hat, dem kann man das Haile Ressort uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Excellent Hotel. Friendly and very accommodating staff. Excellent food and selection of choices at breakfast. Beautiful setting. The view of Lake Awassa from our floor was stunning--changed every time we looked out the window. There was a problem with our initial room request, but they quickly fixed things for us.

great views!
Very enjoyable, comfortable resort. Nicely priced. Our first night we had our view of the lake obstructed by a beautiful tree. The resort was full that night, but the next night we were moved to another room with a spectacular view of the lake.

Very good but the shower needed to be turn on in 30 minutes every morgning in order to get hot water ( 2nd floor, sea view), and the internet connection was extremely unstable. Stable internet connection was one of the main reason the hotel was chosen because I needed to do som home work in the afternoons.

Great location by the lake.
The location is just great, I had a nice view of the lake from my balcony. The boat trip in the lake offers splendid experience of seeing hippos and different type of birds living by the lake.

Our apartment was too far down a dirt road from the main building. Luggage couldn't be rolled on it, and there was no bell hop to help. It was dirty, had no lamps, or, amenities. The shower hose was broken, and the water wasn't hot. This resort was a hot, dry, boring mess! Hated it!

Good wievs is the best
The staff is very friendly and service minded, the wiev from the hotel is amazing and very very stuning. The hotel is a bit old and not up to date. The pool area is a bit ruff and it is cold and dirty water. The breakfast is poor, not much to choose from. The staff really tries their best and are very helpfull.

The rooms at the Haile are clean and comfortable. I had a suite this time, which was lovely. The biggest complaint about this hotel is the food. The food is just TERRIBLE.

We wait more than 3 hours to get room the reception isn't welcome us we we're very tired of getting our room on time moreover the breakfast was not good and it was before three. Beautiful hotel with friendly staff
Spent 4 days here and had such a great time! The staff are amazing! They picked me up from the bus station which was a great help And also organised one of the staff to act as a guide for me to the fish market and nature park as I was a lone female traveller. Really enjoyed the boat ride that leaves from the hotel jetty to see the hippos. It’s worth paying for a lake view room as the views were amazing, my room was clean, tidy and very spacious. Breakfast was great, lunch and dinner at the hotel had a nice variety of options and they even made up something smaller for me that wasn’t on the menu. Enjoying a glass of wine from the sunset bar overlooking the lake was also great. The gym facilities were good as was the pool and sauna and steam. Overall I had a wonderful relaxing time! Would highly recommend!!

Over priced hotel
We could only get rooms for three night. We had two rooms, and had no hot water for two days. My room had a sewerage smell all the time...The WiFi was also very bad. We then moved to South Star International, at a 1/3 the price!!!! Hot water, best Wifi..

Fint hotell i fantastiske omgivelser!
Hotellet er fint både ute og inne. Fantastisk svømmebasseng der en ser utover Awasasjøen, utrolig folke- og fugleliv. Virkelig en perle! Maten er god og trygg. Utmerket servise fra betjeningen i forbindelse med feiring av dag. Tregt Internett. Men det gjelder for hele landet. Lunefull dusj, men alltid vann i springen. Stor fordel at en kan forhåndsbestille og forhåndsbetale på dette hotellet.

Almost Amazing...
I'm from the US, but have lived in rural Ethiopia for 7 years. I needed a break... time for quiet and beauty and a re-charge. I got that at the Haile. The location on a lovely part of the lake was just what I needed. My room overlooked the lake and the infinity pool. It's on a part of the lake that's perfect for beautiful sunsets. The outside dining options are peaceful and beautiful, whether at the pool, under the giant trees, or along the beach at the "wine bar." Lots of birds to see, occasional hippos, local fishermen. The gym is well-equipped, but personnel there as well as a couple of other places, could be more helpful/better trained, in my opinion. The possibilities for massage and manicure/pedicure are great. Room service is good. The buffet breakfast is good. The main problems, in terms of the facility itself: 1) sewage problem so that there is a stench in the pool area that makes lounging/eating snacks less than pleasant, 2) the water in the shower did a kind of "pulsing thing" that went from all cold to all hot water, but never really stayed at a good medium temperature - so showers were not pleasant. If both of these problems, and staff training were addressed, my rating would be a 5.
