The house was clean and generally comfortable. The views were amazing. It was cleaned well and our pet was safe because the decks had a gate. Access to the water for kayaking was right there. The kitchen was well appointed and the table large enough for 8. The immediate area had marsh restoration and that provided an area for different types of birds .

Windy Point Review

This property was great! The top deck was amazing and offered an amazing sunset. The kitchen was large and allowed us to host some dinners/happy hours throughout the week. The place was clean and in good condition.

Love it!

We loved our stay in Avon! Being right on the sound was perfect for calm peaceful water play and the beach was just a very short walk away when we wanted a little more action. The best of both worlds!

Great location

Plenty of room for our family of four and our dog to spread out and relax. PROS: Great location and water views Quiet area, just a short drive to shops and restaurants Short walk to the beach Easy to paddle board or kayak from right next to the property CONS: Floor in living room area was very slippery, hard for my 5 month old lab to walk on and I fell one night too A little dated and in need of some care - lots of missing light bulbs and hard to work doors and windows Kitchen had a lot of stuff but was mostly just thrown into cabinets, so not always easy to find what you needed (and an oven mitt would have been a useful item to have!)

Perfect location

This Avon home was beautiful!! The views were absolutely amazing and everything you needed to cook and relax were all provided! Would definitely stay again!!

Family gathering

There were 5 adults traveling for a memorial service. The location of the house was perfect. It was on the water where we had stunning views of the sunset, and water from both the upper deck and lower enclosed sun room. However, the overall feel of the house was run down. The basement area was very musty and was difficult for my sister’s allergies. The spiral stairs down into the bedroom area was tricky as the stairs are very narrow. Otherwise, great location.

Awesome View!

You are virtually surrounded by the sound so the views are great. Easy access to place kayaks into the sound by the house. Property has been there awhile so it has some age to it, but fairly well kept.

Great location!

The views from this house were sublime. The house is surrounded on all sides by water. Every side of the house has windows, so you almost feel like you are floating on the sound. The views of the sunsets are worth the trip here as well. There is enough distance between the neighboring homes that you have a bit of privacy. The location is nice because everything in Avon is a very short drive away. The beach is also a 20 minute walk as well. Overall the house adequately met our expectations.

Pretty Good

The stay was pretty good! Just make sure to go when there is good weather. I just have one problem with the property, there was no extra toilet paper, just the rolls that were already on the toilet paper holders. I know toilet paper is pretty important sooooo next time I would appreciate more toilet paper cause it’s kinda gross, you know? That’s my only issue cause other than that it was great!!!

Great Stay

Great house in a great neighborhood. It is perfect for anyone who is wanting to enjoy any water sports, including fishing. The owners were awesome to deal with and I hope we can stay again

Amazing views

My wife, sister & parents stayed at this property over a holiday weekend. Checked in on a Thursday & out Monday (Labor Day). All communication leading up to the stay was great. Questions asked & answered. The house wasn't quite ready at the 4 pm check in time due to cleaning. With Covid still being at the front of everyone's mind, we were ok with the small delay. However, upon walking into the house, banisters, spiral stair railing, kitchen chair tops, etc all had a black grime come off of them when we wiped them. Obviously these weren't cleaned prior to our stay. Also, the great communication stopped after check in. A message to the owner through the app shortly after check in regarding towels went unanswered. Also, the second night of our stay, we had some plumbing issues. I called one of the telephone numbers posted on the fridge and left a message. That too went unanswered. I repeatedly checked the app as well, even though the call was made from my cell, but there was nothing. Even though the plumbing problem persisted, it luckily did not worsen. The house itself was adequate but could use some updates. The king bedroom downstairs was super dark w/the brown bedding & the lamps barely put off any light. With the plumbing issues & the lack of attention/communication after check in, I'm not sure I'd choose this particular house again. However, I would absolutely stay in this area again. The water access & water views were AMAZING!

Perfect house for the perfect vacation

AMAZING location. With the sound directly behind the house, the view is spectacular as well as the activities. My group drove about 3 mins to the Avon fishing pier each day to go to the beach. Then we came back and floated in the warm and still sound at night. The wrap around decks are great to get together and eat meals and even play some corn hole. We all LOVED this property and would definitely rent again. The only issue we ever encountered was that the upstairs toilet takes a while to flush, but we made do! 10/10 recommend this property :)

Great location, but the house needs work

The location is amazing. There was plenty to do. The children played in the water or built sandcastles under the house pretty all day. The adults either went kiteboarding, sailing, paddle boarding or relaxed in the shade all day. The sunsets over the sound every evening were great. We never turned on a screen once. The house itself needs work. There is some intensive work and some simple maintenance that is being put off or ignored. The largest project is to address the musty smell downstairs. Every room downstairs smells. I avoided going downstairs as much as possible. My wife didn't go down there at all due to the smell. It really limited our use of the house. It was a good thing the location was perfect and could spend all day outside, because we didn't really want to be inside with that smell. While the smell is project that will take an investment of time and money there were other smaller items that just haven't been addressed. Problems you shouldn't have to think about. For example, -The inability to lock the downstairs sliding doors. (A review left this feedback two years ago...) -The dryer does not blow hot air. We had to go to the neighbor's house dry the clothes -The large coil on the stove doesn't work -The chain in the toilet in the master bath was taped together. (It obviously didn't hold, and we had to reach into the toilet each time to flush it.) -Dead light bulbs not replaced -An open vent to the outside in the pots and pan cabinet The house could be a fantastic vacation spot because of it's location. The house itself needs work in order to meet its potential. 5 stars for the location and 2 stars for the house's potential.

Clean + Roomy House with Beautiful View

Very nice house on the water. Plenty of room for two families with kids & not overly expensive (especially when splitting the cost). Kitchen was clean and well-maintained, as were the bedrooms and living areas. Before arriving, we regretted not being able to get a place closer to the Atlantic. However, with the house being literally ON the Sound with an unobstructed view, we realized that it was a better place to stay than in a house on one of the side streets across the main road. Why? The sunset. And the warm, shallow, & safe water for kids & adults to play in. And the SUP shop up the road. If you get tired of the sun, sit in the shade under the house, have a drink, and watch the kids. If you want to flop around in the waves, walk 10 minutes east and find one of the public-access paths to the beach. In summary: Great place to stay with easy access to both the Sound and ocean.

House was clean and beds comfortable. All needed kitchen tools were available. Parking a bit tight

Under the house parking was washed out thus our parking was limited. We windsurfed every day and being right on the water was perfect. With a sandy ramp access was super easy! Sunsets beautiful. Not a luxury place but it had everything we needed!
