SALTY PIECE OF LAND, a four-bedroom/five-full and one-half bath home offers the perfect family retreat or a friend-group’s getaway — a place just a short stroll from the beach that will inspire renewed connections and instant memories with parrot head perfection.

Upon arrival, unload the car into the convenient cargo lift that enables you to easily transport your luggage and groceries. Make your way to the first level game room, fix a cold beverage at the wet bar, turn on the Smart TV and see who rules the foosball and pool tables. Also on this level is a full bath and six-person hot tub located on the adjacent deck.

All of the home’s bedrooms are masters featuring private baths and Smart TVs. Three of them — two kings and a room with two bunkbeds — are located on the second level, along with laundry facilities. The final bedroom, a king, is located on the third level just off the great room. Here you’ll find a haven of open, whimsical living. The great room, dining area, and kitchen flow seamlessly, inviting everyone to relax, recharge and share stories. Gather around the long kitchen counter with three stools to keep the chef company or spread out around the 10-seat dining table for memorable meals shared together. After dinner, cozy up on the sofas with a good book or movie on the Smart TV. As the sun sets, settle into a deck chair or climb a few steps up to the captain’s watch to catch the evening sky’s magical show over the ocean.

Another great stay

This is the second year we have stayed at this great cottage. It has wonderful rooms and plenty of bathrooms. The owner is great to work with and would recommend it highly as a great destination if you are looking for a place in Avon

Perfect vacation!

Everything was perfect! We did not have to worry about anything the house was super clean and the owners only concern was that we had a amazing vacation! Not only would I recommend this house I will definitely be renting it again next year!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time at “Salty Piece of Land”. The place was very clean and close to the beach. We took advantage of the beach and the sound. Teresa was always very quick to respond and very helpful! I highly recommend this property for a wonderful getaway!!

Had a Great Time!

Great stay for a group of 10 friends. Enough room for all of us to stay comfortably and have our own space. The pool table, foosball table, hot tub, and fire pit were all a fun time. Proximity to the beach made this the perfect place to stay, along with all the included beach gear. Communication with the host was great, very fast responses to any questions we had.

A perfect beach getaway.

We had a perfect weekend here. Salty piece of land included everything we could need. From the big stuff like a luggage lift to the little stuff like hot and cold water and a hand sprayer in the outdoor shower this house had it all. The beach was very close and easy to get to. We’d happily come here again.

Great Family Getaway

The house and everything in was just as advertised. Plenty of room for my family. Great views of the ocean from the 3rd floor deck and crow’s nest. Furnishings were nice and comfortable. The walk to/from the beach was a bit longer than expected but having the hot tub available at the end of a day on the beach made you forget the walk quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the “Salty Piece of Land.”

Wonderful stay

The house was amazing - by far one of the cleanest and most comfortable we have ever stayed at. Plenty of room for 8 people, comfortable beds and furniture, lots of thoughtful touches throughout that made our stay very enjoyable. The outdoor decks were great, and we especially enjoyed a fantastic view of the fireworks on July 4 from the top deck. A highlight was also the close walking proximity to the ice cream shop and bakery. The neighborhood pool is also very nice. Communication was excellent! I would highly recommend!!!

Well equipped home in very nice location.

We chose this property for it’s location and facilities and it did not disappoint. Theresa was a wonderful host, very quick to respond to any communications and was also very accommodating. We did have an issue which Theresa dealt with swiftly and effectively. The game room is an added bonus and great for family fun.

Wonderful location!

Great property for our family of 12! We all had our own space and the outdoor shower was a hit coming in from the beach. The beach was just a quick walk and that was nice. We really enjoyed the multiple deck levels to just sit and enjoy the ocean breeze and family time. A huge shout out to the owner!! She was quick to respond EVERY TIME I had a question and we really appreciated that! I don’t think we could have found a better place to stay for our family!!!

Great getaway!

Teresa was absolutely amazing at quickly answering texts and questions whenever I had them. The house was spotless and perfect for our needs. Great location if you prefer quiet and low key which was exactly what we wanted. The beach is close - but there are stairs and a hill over the dune - just be prepared! Would absolutely recommend!!

Perfect getaway

We had an amazing time this week even though the weather didnt work out for us so much. Our kids never got bored with all of the games that were downstairs. (even the adults were caught playing) We even had one of our beach chairs break while we were there but luckily the host has extras at the house for you to use. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you needed. The views of the ocean for the sunrise is amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer

Great Beach House!

We REALLY enjoyed our stay. We vacationed for a week with my extended family (my wife and three kids, my parents, plus my sister and her husband). It was AWESOME to have a king bed and bathroom in each of the couples' rooms plus a bathroom in the bunk-bed room (for the boys), not to mention the bathroom in the game room and living room. The pool table and foosball table were a great addition for the boys to enjoy as well. The hot tub and outdoor shower were wonderful, too. The kitchen was well-stocked (coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots, pans, etc. - everything you could need)

Nice/ Clean House

We stayed here for 4 days in April 2021. This house was beautiful and clean. Nice and spacious for everyone. Great views of the ocean. The property manager was wonderful and responded fast. It was cold when we stayed so having the hot tub was a nice add on. The kids loved the game room ( the adults too). Lots of things to use in the house. The only down falls was the stairs but that is just what comes with big houses. Would stay again.

Just what we were looking for.

A group of us needed to get away and this was the perfect spot. Common room was big enough for 8 of use to never feel cramped. The rooms were distant enough to feel private and allow space if you wanted some privacy. It took us about 5 minutes to walk down and set up camp on the beach for the day. Hot tub was perfect and who can say no to an outdoor shower, game of pool, and drinks in the bar downstairs. 100% will return.

Fishin’ Weekend with the Boys

We are repeat guests of Salty Piece of Land, and there’s a reason for that. The proximity of the home, the amenities, the house layout, all of it; meets all of our needs. Great fishing straight out from the house, Frank and Frans tackle shop a short walk away, off-road ramps nearby in both directions; perfect for what we need. The house itself is clean, well-maintained, and spacious. We had 10 guys on the trip this year, and every single one loves it. Thank you again to Teresa for being a great host as well! Even the neighbors are great! Looking forward to next year’s trip already!

Great House

Great location, great house. Plenty of room for 10 people without feeling cramped. House is in really good condition, and everything worked well. Good location for a more laid back vacation. Quiet town with everything you need near by, but not built up like towns further up the outer banks. Still close enough to get to the tourist areas in a little under an hour. Beach entrance is about 100 feet from the house. The beach is wide and long and never gets over crowded. Was great for hours of playing in the waves. House worked great for our family and would highly recommend for a beach getaway.

Exceptional Experience in Avon

We had an amazing time at A Salty Piece of Land. The house is very well appointed and just a short walk to the beach. We had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the multiple decks, hot tub and game room. The only complaints we heard came from our three year old nephew who felt the game roim had too many games and the beach had too much sand! The teenagers on the trip felt both were just right. Teresa was exceptional to work with and responded immediately to all my questions. We started discussing another trip next year since everyone had such a great experience!

Great Avon Vacation House

My family enjoyed a wonderful vacation at this amazing Avon home. House was beautifully furnished, comfortable and perfect for our group. The game room was a huge plus for the children, (and the adults). Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had plenty of everything. We enjoyed nightly soaks in the hot tub. The walk to the beach took about 5 minutes, but there is a beach cart to make the trek easier. The beach was incredible.; wide, no erosion, with only a few other families on the entire beach. The host provided beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and lots of boogie boards. I would definitely recommend this property.

Heaven on earth!

From the moment we arrived everything was perfect! The view was gorgeous from the main living area and outside porch and look-out, the house was well designed and thoughtfully laid out for a large family hoping to relax and enjoy the beach. The owners were wonderful to deal with and answered all of our questions. The neighborhood was so sweet and quiet in the evenings that you could hear the ocean waves crashing. We bicycled at night to the local "Cups and Cones" ice cream parlor. There is also a surf shop adjacent to that where we rented windsurfers and paddle boards. We could not have asked for a more perfect spot to enjoy our beach vacation!
