Had a great experience staying at La Unica for an ACL trip. The staff are really nice and friendly. The bed mattress was very comfy, and for the price it was worthwhile. I would come back here.

On one hand the room was spotless and the guy at the desk was really nice but as many have said the room reeked of mold and cigarette smoke that was wafting in from the hallway. I ended up leaving after 20 minutes because of the smell.

Clean room. Air did not work but it was cool enough that I didn’t need it. Fridge also did not keep my food cool. Very interesting setup. When the clerk walked me to my room he said I had a basic room so it did not have a shower. It did have a toilet and sink. The shower was about 4 doors down and was private with a locked door.

The room was extremely comfortable, offering a small desk with chair, a comfy bed, a quality air conditioner, small fridge and microwave. The toilet and sink were also very clean. The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, they showed me around the place, taught me how to use the public transport even when Australia Google had blocked the Umo app.

Room was clean, staff was friendly, and air conditioning/appliances worked. All the basics are covered. Just note that the shower is separate from the room, which wasn’t really a problem, just something to note— and bring shower slippers for.

The shower is off suite so make sure to bring some slides. Despite some furniture and decor not being fully installed the bed was comfortable enough. Make sure to request hand soap.

The room was not as pictured by the property. Room was furnished with a bed, tv, microwave, mini fridge, a cheap metal and plastic folding chair, folding tv tray, and basic chest of drawers. The sheets were dirty and stained. The shower was filthy and had hair on the wall. The bathroom was set to be shared with the neighboring room, but had locks on it to restrict access to the one room. The ceiling light didn’t work. There was a door to the adjacent room (which could optionally share the bathroom) which had no lock and was repeatedly opened. It was partially open when I first got to the room and I closed it. When I noticed the lack of a lock, I tucked something along the edge to see if it stayed closed or not. I went out to get dinner and coming back to the room I found that the door was partially open again. I then tied the doorknob of that door to the chair and then placed my full oversized duffel bag in the chair. Trying to prevent it from opening since there was not a lock. I had tried to make the best of it. Secured the room as best I could, got the sheet from my bag so I didn’t have to sleep in someone’s dirty sheets, and decided I could get something to clean the shower with in the morning. The door tied to the chair remained closed during the night. When I was out the next day though, it was again opened. Pulled from the other side. Not a private room. Going to clean the shower, I discovered roaches. They quickly ran back into the wall. I immediately packed and left.

The room was pretty clean, but the only pillows on the bed were the ones with the decorative pillow shams, not actual pillowcases meant for sleeping on. Also, there was only a single topsheet on the bed, and no fitted sheet - so I had to sleep between the topsheet and the comforter/blanket. The room didn't have a shower, which Hotels.com didn't specify. Looking at the website for La Unica, though, it looked like the price I paid was the same as a room that had its own shower, which seemed a bit odd to me.

The hotel is a cute hotel. And the rooms are clean and staff is nice. However there are speakers in the hallway that blare music all night long being played by the hotel, so youll get no sleep.

for the price and the convenience this place was awesome as heck. the hallways are a bit strange and the showers are bit scary looking but I never felt unsafe. the staff was super nice & accommodating. next time I come to Austin for a couple of days I will most definitely stay here again. it's close to literally everything we wanted to do around Austin so I don't regret staying here. woopwoop
