The tours like the safari were overpriced for the area. The rule to take shoes off in areas like the lobby was pretty inconvenient. Food variety for people with dietary restrictions was limited.

Kuyana Amazon Lodge is a wonderful place for a retreat and discovering the jungle. I spent 1 week for Christmas time and we had a blast with my 2 teenagers and husband. Lu and Ivan are wonderful host and they do their best to please you, to find anything you need. They build their lodge 2 years ago and everything is beautiful and clean. The mattress are new and very firm, the room are bright minimalist and lovely. We had the chance to eat a lot of specialty from Ecuador and everyday was excellent and a great surprise. Lu organized a perfect schedule for each day of the week. we did several hiking and discovered beautiful landscape, waterfall in the jungle. We did 3 different rivers in rafting and we all loved it. They used River People Company, the owner is Timothee and this guy is wonderful and know everything about safety and fun. Ivan also took care of my son and taught him how to kayak on his own. We loved the place, the people and the food. We definitely recommend and we would love to come back with some friends.
