Utmärkt boende och otroligt serviceminded personal. Hotellet håller hög standard. Adult only är konceptet för mig och jag åker gärna tillbaka. Det man ska vara medveten om att det ligger i en backe och att det är mycket trappor.

Ein wirklich schönes Hotel mit einem wundervollen Ausblick. Das Personal war stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war sehr schön, modern und sauber. Auch die gesamte Hotelanlage war immer sehr sauber. Der Ausblick vom Pool und vom Zimmer aus sind wirklich traumhaft schön. In der Umgebung selbst sind einige Restaurants, Bars und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten fussläufig erreichbar. Das Hotel selbst liegt auf einem Hügel und hat auch viele Stufen. Das fanden wir persönlich nicht schlimm, sollte man aber können und mögen. Auch ein schöner Stein- und/oder Sandstrand sind innerhalb von wenigen Minuten fussläufig erreichbar. Unbedingt an den Strand gehen, welcher sich direkt unterhalb des Hotels befindet (eher links). Mit Glück sind da Schildkröten zu sehen, sehr schön und nur zu empfehlen. Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und lecker. Wir hatten auch mal mittags eine Kleinigkeit gegessen die ebenfalls lecker war. Alles in einem können wir die Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen.

I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday with great services. The staff were amazing, always eager to help. They helped me book some sites and tours which were great. The room was always clean and ready before l returned for day which was convenient. We had such a lovely stay at Blue Elephant in Almyrida! The location is peaceful and quiet, about 45–50 minutes from Chania (CHQ) airport, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The absolute highlight was the staff – they were genuinely some of the friendliest and most helpful we’ve ever met. Communication before, during, and even after our stay was excellent, and they always made us feel so welcome. The hotel itself is very clean and calm, best suited for couples or adults. My partner loved relaxing by the pool, while I made use of the small gym (don’t expect heavy weights, but it’s great for a hotel gym). Breakfast was really good, with enough variety even for us as vegetarians/vegans. The only small thing that could be improved would be having a few more veggie/vegan options on the lunch menu, but with so many restaurants in town, it wasn’t a problem. They don’t do dinner, but again, the local options were fantastic. Overall, it’s perfect for a 5–6 day relaxing holiday. We will definitely be coming back in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful break in Crete.

First of all, thank you Penny from everything. They really want you to enjoy hospitality and the silence. Everybody has sunlounger, so never too much people even if booked a swim-up room, go and enjoy the infinity pool and views. Breakfast simple but fresh and tasty. 3min walk to store, and 5min to the beach. Small village so restaurants are at the beach. End of the road/beach Elia&Thyme restaurant, best beef filee and tunatartar go and try. Rooms are big and clean.

Hotelbewertung: Leider enttäuschend – kein erholsamer Aufenthalt Unser Aufenthalt im Blue Elephant auf Kreta war leider insgesamt enttäuschend. Wir hatten uns auf ein paar erholsame Tage gefreut, wurden aber in mehreren Punkten enttäuscht. Das Bett war extrem hart und sehr unbequem, ebenso die Kissen – was unseren Schlaf deutlich beeinträchtigt hat. Nach mehreren Nächten mit Rückenschmerzen waren wir alles andere als ausgeruht. Wir hatten extra ein Zimmer mit privatem Swim-up-Pool gebucht, doch auch hier mussten wir Abstriche machen: Der Pool war teilweise stark verschmutzt und wurde nur nach Aufforderung gereinigt, was für ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse wirklich nicht akzeptabel ist. Auch das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr enttäuschend – die Auswahl war äußerst begrenzt und entsprach in keiner Weise dem, was man von einem gehobenen Hotel erwarten würde. Frische, Vielfalt oder Qualität waren kaum vorhanden. Die allgemeine Sauberkeit ließ ebenfalls zu wünschen übrig – weder im Zimmer noch in den öffentlichen Bereichen konnte man von echter Gründlichkeit sprechen. Insgesamt hat uns das Hotel einfach nicht überzeugt. Für den Preis hätten wir deutlich mehr Komfort, Sauberkeit und Service erwartet. Leider können wir das Blue Elephant daher nicht weiterempfehlen.

We loved our stay at the Blue Elephant. The property itself is lovely, with a lovely pool that has a gorgeous view, the rooms are spacious with everything you need. We had a shared plunge pool and loved it. We never saw our neighbours who we shared it with. The staff were also fantastic, with a special shout out Kostas and Emiliano at the pool restaurant and bar area. Penny at reception was also very helpful. Everyone we encountered was friendly and lovely. There were only a few things on the very small con list and that is while the breakfast buffet was lovely, it was exactly the same everyday, no variarion at all and the milk area was kept out in a fairly warmish area - if they'd put the milk in ice that would be great! But honestly, those were small things. The town of Almyrida is lovely, with everything in walking distance. Lots of great restaurants with friendly and lovely employees. Just note that if you have a mobility impairment there is a fairly steep hill from the main drag to the hotel. It would not be an easy walk to get up. We will definitely be back, it's one of the loveliest hotels we've stayed at.
