Too noisy and not suitable for 8 people
We staying in the property for 3 nights in the summer visiting Annecy.
This property was not suitable for our family for several reasons.
Firstly the location is adjacent to a 4 lane highway. The constant drone of traffic is relentless, especially on hot summer evenings where the windows need to be kept open. While there are Shutters on the windows to keep the sun out, the absence of air conditioning meant we needed to open the windows.
The two bedrooms at the back of the apartment were slightly cooler. The 3rd bedroom has no windows or ventilation, meaning our 3rd child had to sleep on the sofa bed in the lounge room (which wasn’t ideal for us).
The property has laminate flooring so any sound reverberates down to the owner, who lives in the apartment below (which wasn’t disclosed in the listing). Any time spent in the apartment, we we’re constantly reminding the children to keep the noise down.
The positive feature was the 20 minute walk into the Old Town along the canal, which was nice.
