Our family of six had the pleasure of staying here for a week in July. House fit us well, was clean, beds comfortable, stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, beautiful deck to watch sunrise, and kayaks to explore with, even found a tree swing into the water down the canal! Owner, Mike, was great! We look forward to coming again!
This was a great place to stay. It was clean and comfortable. The deck was especially inviting. Only thing that could be improved on would be the A/C upstairs other than that I would highly recommend.
Great property to stay at for fishermen or just relaxing.
Property is on a canal. The big attractions for me is the covered boat hoist, air conditioning and fully equipped kitchen. This was my 3rd stay at the property and I plan on booking the fourth stay very soon.
We took the grandkids for some weekend fun! The host brought us fishing poles and gear. My husband was so happy since he forgot his. He wanted to fish with them. Kitchen was fully stocked. We just had to run to the grocery store and the rest was there, including salt & pepper and some spices. A waffle maker and ingredients to make them elated the kids. We were close to a couple beaches. We were able to watch a movie both nights and all 5 of us had more than enough room on the big sectional couch. The kids didnt want to leave. And we really didnt want to either!
House was as advertised. As with most houses Ive stayed in in the area there’s not much parking but with the canal to leave the boat in the water that really didn’t matter. House was unlocked and door open when we arrived, I don’t think on purpose, but everything was in its place. Would stay again if I was coming with just one truck and trailer.
Mike the owner was great and lives just down the road if any issues arise…he’s super nice and helpful…place is a great location for fishing…the dock was the best part with easy access to shore power…Mike has all the bumpers and rope already in place for you…smaller boats can slip under the bridge in the canal next to the place and hit the bay in just minutes…parking is tight for one truck and trailer but otherwise a great place…several good local eatery’s close by…you can even Doordash to the location…we will definitely be back
The property was better than described, far above what my expectations. the place was clean, fully stocked with new appliances, linens, new flooring the shower and bathrooms were clean. the deck and patio were in great condition and to top it all off there is a covered boat hoist that worked.
If i had to criticize anything the one shower in the upstairs bedroom is a bit inconvenient along with the spiral stairs for upper-level access.
Overall, I would rate this as one of the top places to stay for a fishing trip.
All was great , kayaks were fun to use , nice clean place , just needed internet which was on tv but not for phones ? Password did not accept ?? Other then this well worth the stay mike was great
Overall a nice clean place to stay. Pros: Enjoyed fishing on the canal and sitting on the deck.Nice pots and pans and well stocked kitchen. Towels and bedding were great! Cons: Definitely could use fans in each bedroom as the ac doesn’t work upstairs, but the first floor stays super cold. The spiral staircase can be tricky for some. Poor communication… I left messages and sent emails before our arrival with questions and never got any responses.
We were in town for a family member’s wedding and this was a last minute booking and was perfect. Highlight was the deck, great for fishing for the kids and the kayaks. Swans, ducks and beavers nearby. Paddling to the bay was fun. Kitchen had everything we needed except ice maker. Ample seating for our family. Washer and dryer was very nice to have. Iron would have been a plus. Two bathrooms were great with 5 people. Only issue is that the air conditioning definitely needs an upgrade. The weather was unseasonably HOT that week and we were struggling to get ready for a wedding with barley palpable outtake from the AC. We had to check several times to see if it was actually on. Can’t imagine if it was in July. Luckily we brought some small fans for sleep as all bedrooms are upstairs. The narrow, winding stairs could be a challenge for elderly people. Owner was pleasant and accommodating.
This property is a top-notch place to stay for fishermen. This is by far the most well appointed rental property you will ever stay at. the only thing you really need to bring is your food. We will be back again next year.
There were a couple of issues, that did not seriously affect our stay, but were a minor annoyance.
1. the posted WIFI password did not work and the property manager never returned my call to solve this.
2. Air conditioning did not work properly, luckily it was not very hot outside. air conditioner leaked into the first floor bathroom.
3. There is no screen in the window above the kitchen sink. This inhibited cross ventilation to the lower floor.
We arrived by both boat and car. I was surprised to see that the boat in the pictures of the home was actually docked at the home. I incorrectly assumed that it would not be there allowing for guests to park their boats there. There is a small boat well available, but my 25-foot Formula had a hard time squeezing in. When I called and left a message about this, I never received a call back. I would say you do not want to bring a boat with larger than an 8' beam or much larger than 25" of length
Their boat does block the view from the deck significantly. Also blocks easy use of the stairwell down to the water. Lastly, we were uncomfortable with the idea that we might be blamed for anything that happened to it while we were staying there.
Inside the house was decent and as depicted in the pictures. I will say the window areas were filled with dead bugs and needed cleaning. This was inside as I understand the difficulty with bugs outside, being close to the water.
Mike was great to deal with. Easy check in process, kitchen well stocked, nice location, deck was great to sit and relax.

Nice home on channel
Could have been cleaner. Moldy coffee in coffee maker. Toothpaste and hair in sink. I had to clean both toilets. Kitchen had lots of dishes and appliances. Lots of cleaning products available for use. Lots of towels and beach towels as well.. Very nice having 4 kayaks to use and a boat lift for our boat. Neighbors were not friendly. Overall I would recommend staying here. About a 20 minute boat ride to the main river. Loved exploring the river and lake. Would be nice to have instructions for checkout. I just locked up and put keys back. Not as big as pictures show but plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children. Nice deck on the channel but I would suggest gates to secure the area.
