We booked a room with a private bathroom, the room was clean and had all the basic morning needs; kettle, tea, instant coffee and sugar. The bathroom was recently updated, it was well done and served us well. We got there on a Saturday and were informed about their live band playing in the bar that night, our room was at the back so we were not disturbed by it. A nice spot to bed down on our road trip.

Room was old fashioned and not in good condition. I booked a single and got a single bed, a very poor mattress, 1 blanket which was only a sheet really and 1 very poor pillow. I checked out of the hotel at 5.30am to get out of this place. B&Bs are better than this place, not a hotel at all, just old rooms over a bar. They took a £60 deposit and promised twice it would be back at 12pm next day. I had to email and didn’t receive for about 3+ days later

Very disappointing. The the room need a global renovation. The wallpaper is peeling off the wall, the bed are squeaky, the mattress tired, the radiator repairs done on the radiator fixation are poor DIY. The shared bathroom is OK, but have mould in the caulk. The deposit has been returned 7 days later. The price is good, I easily accept some quirks, but here it's a lot. Sorry.

Good budget friendly stay

The room are amazing. Staffs were welcoming and nice, the property was little un maintained. The property has a pub which had good crowd. Overall a decent stay.

Restaurant and bar was closed. Stairs was very scruffy and room door was sticking, it was actually the hinges that were coming loose. The room itself was reasonable and bathroom looked to have been just refurbished. The one member of staff that was there was helpful and I did report the door to him.

Friendly staff, comfortable and clean room. Recently upgraded bathroom, very nice. Can't expect anymore from 2 star hotel, very good price for what we got.

What a sad state of affairs. Walking into my room felt like I’d just arrived at the final level of despair. It’s honestly impressive how aggressively depressing the place was. The sight of the bed, with its pathetic flat cushions and sunken mattress, made me question whether I’d committed some unspeakable crime and had suddenly snapped out of a denial induced psychosis to realise I’d been thrown into a prison cell for the rest of my days. The TV didn’t work and the supposed wifi wouldn’t connect. I’m pretty annoyed that hotels.com would allow them to list this place on their site as the pictures are extremely misleading, unless they were taken sometime in the mid-90s before the owners completely gave up on caring about their business. Just to add, I took the hit on what I paid (£80) and booked in the hotel across the road. That’s how bad it is. Shame on hotels.com for allowing memebrds of their platform to pay £80 a night to stay here!!

I was a Wednesday night stop, so it was peaceful, clean room in a pub with pub grub. I have dietary issues so had breakfast at Skoosh up the road.

There was guests smoking drugs and shouting and screaming all night in the corridors and the bathroom and shower was really dirty and foul smelling

We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the accommodation and the fact that the bed was far too narrow for two adults. Even though the staff was kind, these issues made our stay uncomfortable.

Hotel is very run down, we waited at the reception for a bit before being seen to! Hallway and stairs are in need of a good clean and paint! Very run down. Room was freezing, no heating on. Damp on windows and ceiling and that was supposed to be a refurbished room! Needless to say we didn’t stay and left straight away! Out of pocket. Light fitting in hall hanging down from ceiling (dangerous). Hallway hadn’t even been hoovered. STAY CLEAR OF THIS HOTEL!!!

Very helpful staff. This hotel is at the affordable end of the market, and that should be taken into account. Staff couldn't have been more kind and helpful. Allowed me to leave my car for a few days whilst I was away walking, which was much appreciated.
